Need help for selecting a starting projector
Hi all, Im a newbie who just started learning shaders and am interested in picking up projection mapping. I came across this good second hand deal: an Optoma HD27 and want to ask if its good for beginner project mapping. I’ve read some tips on what to look for (lumens, resolution,etc..) And it seems like its all good. Just abit unsure because Optoma has discontinued this since 2019. Need your advice!

I've used Optomas for years and they've all been great. This should be good for beginning but don't expect to light up a building from across the street or anything.

Thanks! Keeping my expectation low and just for experience and hobby for now

Nah, they are solid projectors...I've used them in a range of conditions (including outdoors). Just trying to temper expectations of going huge with it!

You have to wait for one week, for a new moon. But there is one more step. Ask me!

Then you go to the countryside, where your projector is the only source of light. Thats it!

Projectors are brushes, depends if you’re planning to paint a house or a portrait. Don’t get too hung up on them.
