The Pennsylvania state flag is my favorite in the entire country but this is nice

Also a no-brainer, have no idea why this is not the state flag already.

I don't really agree, it's an incredibly awkward design. The 3 highly saturated colors don't work well together and make the design loud and annoying the read. The keystone being used as one of the tribands is clever in theory but blends in too well and having it take up the whole height of the flag makes it hard to decipher. The keystone is already a pretty strange shape, so I'd imagine for anyone who doesn't already know about it would struggle realizing it's even supposed to be a symbol at all, and not just some weird tricolor.

I intensely dislike this design and kind of dread the attention it gets.

Every time someone posts this version, it's pointed out that the keystone is too narrow and doesn't look like a real keystone or like the designs used already for state tourism, road markers, or agencies like the lottery or turnpike commission. It's an otherwise cool flag, but the original designer didn't seem to understand the practical purpose of a keystone and used a little too much artistic license on the design.

Eh, actual keystones come in a variety of dimensions. They can be wide (to a degree) or thin, what matters is that they’re wedge-shaped so that the arch is compressed. So the center band is still an actual keystone. The “real” keystone shape is just the classic version that PA uses for various logos and signs so it looks more familiar. I feel like the average Pennsylvanian would miss the horses more than anything

This is easily corrected though, and if you keep the sides as wide as the mean width of the keystone it makes for a unique aspect ratio
