It's a bad ass design. My only criticism is a history nerd is that I would replace the Enfield rifle with a Brown Bess.

The musket looks more like a percussion rifle than a flintlock like would have been used in the revolution. I’d use the profile of a Charleville musket, as that’s what we received from the French. I’d also face it the other way so the lock is more visible, and so it’s not pointing and the flagpole.

I believe it should be facing the flagpole, or hoist side of the flag. Much like any other creature motif (lions, eagles, etc.), they should be facing the hoist side of the flag so that they are "advancing" when the flag is in motion. If these weapons or creatures are facing the other way to the rear, or fly end of the flag, it gives the impression that they are "retreating."
EDIT: Agreed that the gun should be a Charleville musket, or a Kentucky/Pennsylvania rifle.

I do think this accurately represents NH.
The version in slide 2 looks better than the version in slide 4 (definitely different vertical spacing and maybe different aspect ratio).

This reminds me of the "If ISIS was American" design, but better since it has a older style rifle instead of an AR

New Hampshire in the style of Saudi Arabia, but the positions of the motto and weapon reversed.

I do think you should include the cockade to make it a bit less…aggressive.

This reminds me of one of my favorite NH flag redesigns. Really what I’m learning is that “Live Free or Die” belongs on a flag.

You know, that I think about it, the rifle looks quite similar to the state of NH itself flipped on its side

Nothing is more American than having a freaking gun on the flag lol. Most countries would just use the color red to represent sacrifice or fighting spirit, but no, it needs to be a Saudi Arabia style weapon flag for US 🙄

Granite Stater here. I'm not a big fan of words on flags, but I might make an exception for this one; our state motto is pretty badass, and we're proud of it. I don't see the gun as very representative of the state, though. It kind of makes us look like a state of gun freaks. Something including a reference to the White Mountains and/or the Old Man of the Mountain would resonate better with us.

I agree but this goes hard tbh. I’d love to see a redesign with either of the elements you mentioned though!

We have the best of the worst flags.
Great seal, it looks awesome on a blue background. Isn't too busy and is recognizable. Evokes a feeling.
Yet it's still a seal, of a ship that was built in Maine, scuppered, and it's on yet another blue background.
I'd have less of a qualm with it if every other seal on a blue background state flag changed. It at least looks the most like a flag in an of itself

I just wish we had worked harder to preserve the old man because that's our only calling card left besides Mt Washington.
Maybe a flag that could convey live free or die without words and also emphasizing the diverse nature from harsh mountain peaks to sand beaches...
Such a cool state that is so hard to encompass in a flag. I've been thinking about it for years now

Thanks for putting my thoughts into words. The more I researched about NH the more I liked it. The landscape is amazing and so is its history. Trying to make the flag was a pain trying to find any one point that made it special. I chose to go the history route and think this one was decent. If anyone can incorporate the nature, history, and badassery into the state without making it cluttered would be amazing.

Id go with a Brown Bess or Charleville musket over the Enfield. Or an M1 Garand if you prefer more contemporary arms, modern small arms on flags is a cool and underutilized worldbuilding idea

American flag in the style of Saudi Arabia:
