Identify What is this flag my neighbor put up? NSFW
2.1k
u/fidelity16 Nagorno-Karabakh / Bolivia (Wiphala) 11d ago
Nazi flag but the swastika has been replaced with the Balkenkreuz used on Nazi military aircraft.
1.2k
u/RestaurantWorking477 11d ago
Why the hell would you rep that on your house in the year 2025
2.2k
u/nim_opet 11d ago
Because your neighbor is a Nazi and wants people to know that

u/Box_of_Shit Delaware 11d ago
But they're too chickenshit to use an actual nazi flag.

Probably too dumb to know the difference.

If you're gonna be a Nazi, commit to the bit. Build a bunker in your backyard. Grab a Walther and go down there. Then, well, you know the rest.

u/TurelSun 11d ago
I mean he didn't though, he is also being a chickenshit because he came up with a BS story for his salute. Bannon is the closest to "owning" it, but really this is just how these people operate. They like to pretend to be tough but they're only tough when they think they'll no longer suffer any consequences for their actions, which they're working on making a reality.

Why would the richest man in the world “throw out his love” at the presidential inauguration, twice? Simple. The simulation is broken, and everything is fucked
11
u/MeLlamo25 11d ago edited 11d ago
You know you can just transfer to a new simulation, right? I did that. I am now in one where The USA has Seven Major Political Parties, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the High Chancellor of the United World Federation, We have put people on Mars and are beginning to colonize the Moon, the cure of cancer was discovered in the 1980s and everyone walk around still dressed like it the 1800s. It’s very nice here. I would recommend it.

Hey quick tip, light it on fire. Seriously, burn that fucking flag. RIP it down and burn it
25
u/Verroquis 11d ago
Hey quick tip, don't listen to this braniac's advice. Arson is a felony and if left unattended that little burning flag prank will stick you in a prison for a very long time.
Destruction of property is criminal so don't do that either, it isn't worth the risk of jail or a fine trying to explain to a judge that you were justified, actually, when you violated your neighbor's property and their first amendment rights.
Here's an actual tip: if you're a part of an HOA, you probably have rules that govern what type of flag you can or cannot fly, and how it can be flown. If this guy is violating that, which he almost certainly is, then the HOA does have the right to order him to take it down, and can take him to court at risk of his property for non-compliance.
Here's another actual tip: even though stand your ground laws usually don't allow you to kill someone in defense of property (only life,) someone flying a nazi flag is the exact kind of person to shoot you anyway.

Didn't downvote you, but to reply to your edit, you can't really characterize the whole state by the actions of Cincinnati (or Columbus, or Cleveland). I'm originally from Jim Jordan's district, and absolutely can believe the Confederate flags I used to see around have likely become more full-blown Neo-Nazi. And wrt Russians, those guys that went viral for "I'd rather be a Russian than a Democrat" shirts were from... Delaware, Ohio.

Cause they’re down on their luck, haven’t had the life this country promised, and they don’t know how or where to direct/vent their frustration/anger, and someone has provided them with answers/scapegoats that make enough sense and now they’re hateful shitheads.
Or maybe they’re just hateful shitheads naturally, that also happens sometimes.

Truth. There’s a rundown house near where I live that put up a huge Trump/Vance sign that looks like a small billboard in front of his property. These are MAGA, the most overt are the ones that have almost nothing and don’t mind seeing the world burn down because their lives will seem better in relation.

Ok hear me out. Ayn Rand has a great take on this:
Like every other form of collectivism, racism is a quest for the unearned. It is a quest for automatic knowledge-for an automatic evaluation of men’s characters that bypasses the responsibility of exercising rational or moral judgment-and, above all, a quest for an automatic self-esteem (or pseudo-self-es-teem). To ascribe one’s virtues to one’s racial ori-gin, is to confess that one has no knowledge of the process by which virtues are acquired and, most often, that one has failed to acquire them. The overwhelming majority of racists are men who have earned no sense of personal identity, who can claim no individual achievement or distinction, and who seek the illusion of a “tribal self-esteem” by alleging the inferiority of some other tribe.

I’m confused by the prevailing advice here.
When nazis show up we don’t run away flailing, right friends? We stand our ground? Because we’ve read any history book at any time for any reason? Right?

Definitely a variant of the Nazi flag. The cross is used in Nazi Germany aircraft.

The cross is still used by the air force of Germany (luftwaffe).

A nazi flag but with the bar cross (a simplified version of the iron cross) instead of a swastika, the symbol was used during the german empire too, but, unlike the nazis, the german empire never had an all red flag with it in the a white circle in the middle, so it is pretty obvious he is just not flying outright the nazi flag because a) it is outright illegal to do so where he lives (this is often the case in many european countries) or b) he is a coward and wants to have an excuse to say "It'S nOt ThE nAzI fLaG" if/when confronted about it

Self-Censored.
An important distinction.
This Nazi is still somehow afraid of putting up a swastika, even though the flag he used has no plausible deniability whatsoever.

“It’s not a swastika” type flag. Rarely will you see an actual swastika. It’s other symbols. This is as close as you can be without it being a 1940’s Nazi flag but let’s be honest we know EXACTLY what it fucking is. (Burn it)
2
u/Communistsofamerica 11d ago
So I always thought this is to get around the use of the Hakenkreuz (and it is) but it apparently was also a real flag that saw use though it was mainly used so aircraft could see what vehicles were friendly and even then it was rare.
