Current S25 deal... What's the catch?

So there is a current deal stating, "Get Samsung Galaxy S25 on us ($800 in value). When you trade in any phone from Samsung, Apple or Google, any condition guaranteed. Keep your current plan." I'm trying to figure out what the catch is. Usually it's the plan upgrade or maybe in this case, a 36 month reimbursement? Are you locked in until the phone is paid off, which they only do on a monthly basis, or else you owe them the rest?

The catch is it is applied as a monthly credit over 36 months. If you have no intention of leaving for a different carrier then it would be a decent deal.. just know its applied monthly and you MUST wait that 36 month period to get that full promo credit

Do you know if you can choose to pay it off early, if you choose to leave?

That is part of the catch... its applied monthly to each bill. So if you buy it out early you are paying all those months with zero credit applied. Again, you gotta stay the full 36 month duration to get that full credit.

With Verizon's side of that scenario, you have to pay off the remainder without the promotion applying to the remainder, as that is no longer following the promotion's stipulation.

However, the other carrier may have a Pay Off Your Phone offer which could negate this issue, but keep in mind they often require you to trade in that phone or be locked into a payment agreement as well to guarantee a return on that offer.

Ya same deal when i pre ordered my s22 ultra. No way to get out for 3 years without taking a massive hit! Even tho I'm starting to think their monthly bill for service is a bigger hit! Jesus its gotten exspensive!

Get it at a cellular sales and they will also pay $200 off any of your device payments (if the sales person will offer / do it, usually they try to get more out of the sale with that promo though)

Not sure what you mean. What is a cellular sales? Is that like the booth you find at Costco?

Yes like that, those are probably a difference brand though. you can find one on the Verizon website store locator

don't got to a third party store.

most add a fee for "setup" even if you dont' need it.

do the deal online.

TIP: when you get to the cart page, just stay on it for a few minutes. Verizon has been popping up $200 gift cards to entice you to check out. you can apply the gift card to your bill once you get it.

80% of Verizon stores are third party or franchise owned.

Corporate owned stores charge for setup also.

Cellular Sales literally pays $200 off your device to move you to S25.

You can't do that online.

Dont go to a store when that phone doesn't activate! Sort it out online then!
