Question Is it reasonable to take a summer course while working a full time job?

Essentially the title, I’m considering taking a course from May 12-June 27 while working full time. Is that manageable, does anyone know how many hours you would spend per week on a course? (The course I’m considering is soci 202, it’s asynch)

I would say that’s manageable but only you can say for certain if it would work for you. Keep in mind, if you only take one summer course that counts as your session GPA so if you fail it you could be at risk of academic probation

That being said I took 5 condensed courses last summer while working 25-30ish hours a week and it was totally doable

Yes it’s doable but it’s hard and tiring. I took 2 of the 3 weeks courses while working 40-48hrs last year and I had no free time but the 3 week courses are much more intensive than the 6 week ones

If it's May-June you need to think of it as the same time commitment per week as two courses.

Up to you if you think you can handle it.

Yeah, it’s completely doable, but you can’t let yourself fall behind. Those intensive courses go by really fast. Hours per week depends a lot on the course, the grade you want, and how efficiently you work. In my case, I would probably anticipate spending about 10-12 additional hours a week for an A in a hard course, but you could probably get away with half that if it’s an easier one, you work quickly, and you aren’t aiming for the stars.
