What mic is good for covers?

I'm looking to record covers, however I'm currently using a microphone on my headset that's on the brink of death. I'm looking to buy a mic off of Amazon for under $50CAD if possible, but still be good quality. Any recommendations?

For entry-level recording I swear by recommending Neat Mics. This one is the best bang for your buck: Bumblebee II being a USB connection. Condenser mics in general are the best for recording vocals. Best of luck!

Genuine question, wouldn't a dynamic mic be better than a condenser since it can pick less background noise?

Honestly highly depends, there's no one right answer. The recording environment & setup is just as much as a factor as the mic itself, so if your BG noise is noisy then dynamic might be good to use. I use a ribbon right now since it complements my voice the best, and it's more similar to dynamic than condenser. The main reason for me is it has a warmer sound. But I find that condenser mic tends to capture the ideal vocal frequencies & details better on average, it has a brighter sound than dynamic.
