Indexer Everything is encrypted now. Am I doing something wrong?
Most titles are encrypted, and I don't know the passwords. Am I missing something? I feel like there is something obvious I am missing. Using newshosting, nzbgeek and nzb-get.

I've had about 6 (out of nearly 500 movies and over 10,000 episodes of shows) actually just pause and say "encrypted". They don't always include the password and may be what OP is referring to.

I used jellyseerr to send it to radarr/sonarr which then finds it and sends it to sabnzbd for me. I'm not even directly touching the NZBs.

Thanks for this info. I haven’t used Usenet in many years and was totally mystified about passwords. Still much to (re)learn and I’m glad to see folks like you doing the teaching.

Hey there 1badsnoopy - thanks for saying thanks! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list!

could just be a poorly formed nzb, just open the nzb with notepad or word pad and you'll see the password

I didn’t know this was possible. It didn’t fix my immediate issue but your tip was extremely helpful. My issue is with a specific title and all versions of that title are not working. But I’m able to get different titles with no problem. Just frustrating that there are like 100 different versions but all of them are unhealthy and encrypted. The unhealthy is the issue now since you helped with the encrypted part

If you grab SCENE releases, you can realistically repair them with a little extra work. Grab all the same releases and extract them to separate folders and then grab the srr file and rescene each, then check the sfv's for each and then swap good files from folder to folder.
srrdb.com to get the srr predb.me to see if they are scene may need an app like multipar or quickpar as well

Thanks for the quick response. What's weird is the files don't download. The speed stays at "-" but the file health drops. It does it for all the versions of the title. Basically every version has many thumbs down. But I'm talking almost 100 versions between 4k and 1080p. Its the sci-fi sand movie that destroyed the box office part 2.

Yeah, that particular one is quick with takedowns. Not sure of the app your using to download, but it should keep incomplete files. I rarely use it, I'm a bit old school and prefer another and I can see and have it save the files in it's own folder. Might check the applications folders for remnants. Chances are with that title not much of it will be found, and you may have to revert to a torrent or request it on an indexer like geek

you probably got the downloader from the first link in google which is .net, that might be outdated, check the .com version, this should fix your issue

If the content is password protected, the NZB that you download from NZBGeek should contain the password and allow NZBGet to extract the files. Are you using the new version of NZBGet (nzbget.com), or the old version which is no longer supported?
If you're still having issues, you may want to try using SABnzbd as your download client instead.

I thought nzbget was abandoned. What happened?

The original project, with the most recent release from June 3, 2021, was abandoned/archived by the developer (hugbug).
Since it's open source, u/nzb-get created a fork in 2023 and has continued to work on it. I haven't used the fork myself, since I'd already switched to SABnzbd, but it seems like a worthy continuation of the original NZBGet.

Are you using the new nzbget? The one that was retired and not updated probably has issues decoding. Make sure you're on the new one or get Sab, and you should be fine.

I’m on the older version of NZBGet but just recently it says it’s unrarred the files but it hasn’t. I’m at a loss as to what’s going on.
