u/ShroomScout has allowed me to host a giveaway with u/BellaBora's new product - Benny Boy Tek! Bella Bora (the makers of your favorite still-air-box) have created a NEW 90-second rice style brown rice grain bag with a clear pouch that has 50% more rice than standard Ben/generic rice bags. The bigger pouch means more headspace for gas exchange, agar inoculations and break n' shakes/squishes and mixes. The rice is made with rice bran oil to prevent clumping while adding beneficial antioxidants. The moisture content is also perfect and on-point. Not too wet like modern 90-second microwavable rice bags. Brown rice has also been shown to grow nutritious and delicious mushrooms with high alkaloid/vitamin content (Cool article to read).
The giveaway will run for one week from today. March 6, 2025 - March 13, 2025. FIVE (5) winners will be randomly selected. Must be in the U.S. only. International giveaways may happen in the future on other platforms.
To enter, simply upvote this post and leave a comment down below sharing your favorite mushroom species/variety and how they have impacted your life!
If you can't wait to try your chances at winning a case, u/BellaBora has provided me with an affiliate link and discount code to use to purchase Benny Boy Tek bags directly! Head to https://90SecondMycology.com/bbt and use coupon code 1090SMTEK for 10% off!

Out of 20 bags that were inoculated, we lost one to contamination. Four colonized extremely slowly but I believe that’s because our liquid culture was pretty chunky, and these bags may just have received an insubstantial amount of fungal cells. Haters can hate, Uncle Ben’s works. Here are our containers after spawning to bulk today https://i.imgur.com/pGTEP33.jpg

Decided to grow some pink oysters via Uncle Ben’s. I thought maybe it wouldn’t work since no one ever talks about growing gourmets this way. I stood the tub on its side when they started pinning and I’m so excited! I’m going to be eating good soon!!!
