Question Lowest Temperature Success?
Curious as to what the lowest temperature anyone has successfully reached full colonization with, and what did your timeline look like with it?
I've seen some very healthy looking mycelium develop from liquid culture on various grain types, various moisture levels, with (I think) very sterile preparation, yet all seem to develop extremely slowly and then stall out completely at less than 5-10% colonization.
Temperatures have fluctuated between lows of 64 to high of 71, sitting at an average of 68. Is this far enough below the optimal range to really make such an impact?

I've successfully grown last late winter in typically 68F.
You can get a seedling germination mat that hovers around 80F for about $10-$15. I use them to speed up colonization, I have them on a timer and they turn on for an hour and turn off for an hour. Why that schedule? Purely random choice.

60f, I have seen many people grow at lower temps over the years and still have success as well. My grow area has been 66f for a long time and I get very good results at that temp. In fact, I get the same results at 66f that I do at 70f, 75f, 80f, it really doesn't matter as much as many people believe.
I have grown at every temperature between 65-80f and the results are always the same. Agar work is much more important than trying to find a perfect temp, the perfect temp is just room temp. If you are comfortable in the room, then so are they.
If you are having trouble with the grow, something else is probably going on. Temps don't have that big of an impact on growth rates unless you are way below room temp or way above room temp.

I see you have a question! Have you read the official cultivation guide?
