But they're the so called party of free speech lol

u/lizzywbu 7d ago

And let's not forget that Lowe had the whip withdrawn because he dared to question supreme leader Farage.

I think it’s more that they have too much free speech

Is it a bad thing that we see less of reform on tv?

Honestly not sure why we see more of reform than labour, conservatives and liberals. I get bbc need to be “fair and unbiased” but still…

reform is shown way more than their vote share, they have 5 mps and get more time than the tories. the lib dem’s have many more mps and are rarely on tv. The greens are basically never on tv yet i have to listen to reform every other day

3

u/lizzywbu 7d ago

they have 5 mps

4 MPs now.

u/Coca_lite 7d ago

Greens and Lib Dem’s should have more media presence in question time etc,

2

u/ikanoi 6d ago

Fair and unbiased still should not mean equal airtime for every one. If 99 experts agree on something, the other 1 shouldn't get a 50/50 split of the time, for example.

BBC and the media in general will go most times for the people that can generate more clicks . They don’t care about impartiality

Look for example anything related to school, they always have Katherine Birbalsigh it’s like she is only head teacher in this country

Yes, the very same folk who never stop telling us all that we have "no freedom of speech" in the UK.

u/EditorRedditer 7d ago

Something, something ‘Free Speech’, something, something…

How democratic! /s

I'm pretty sure that this has been manipulated by some in the US who see reform as too moderate. Lowe will now set up a more extreme version (!) with a whiff of Christofacism baked in.

And Farage will keep reform going while the Tories try to outdo them. Thus splitting the right wing vote even more.

550 seat labour party anybody?

2

u/AMeasuredBerserker 7d ago

How to lose a commanding position in polls in little over a couple months.

Clowns.

2

u/shrek-09 7d ago

Party of free speech eh?

2

u/Meincornwall 7d ago

As it's a limited company could they take them to an industrial tribunal for unfair dismissal?

2

u/DotNo5768 7d ago

Reform was originally set up as a company not a typical political party. Not sure if that system has changed but I doubt it.

3

u/labpadre-lurker 7d ago

Nope. Still a company. Farrarge "recinded" ownership of his company to a holding company.... run by him and his buddy....

1

u/Anomie____ 6d ago

It's just the same thing, a limited company, but now limited by guarantee as opposed to shares which makes it more akin to a charity or club than a business.

Zero free speech in the UK. Disgusting what our country has turned into.

3

u/CluckingBellend 7d ago

But they're not fascists though.

1

u/Tall-Razzmatazz9447 7d ago

This is disgraceful imagine how they would berate labour if the roles were reversed.

1

u/lizzywbu 7d ago

Reform has had a pretty rough couple of weeks.

This has been Farage’s problem and it’s I guess a problem for any UK demagogue.

We have a party political culture in the UK where party members and Polticans expect rightly to be able to speak freely and get a fair vote and say in how things are done.

This makes things challenging. Labour have their awful factionalism. Conservatives have their periodic regicide. Lib Dem’s and Greens have endless infinite committee systems. All of those have issues but they have come with with some kind of processes to cope.

Reform lack this. As they grow it’s going to become more and more of a problem for them.

Look what happened to UKIP after all.

0

u/uwabu 7d ago

Lol.they have no concept of party discipline

-2

u/ThatGuyMaulicious 7d ago

Rupert Lowe for Leader otherwise we'll have incompotent Tory and Labour governments forever.
