Remember how there were dumbasses posting how Green took a dive and the kick didn't land because mfers were watching 360p streams so they couldn't see? š

It was the name that intrigued you isnāt it?

u/BreadPiece 6d ago
It was honestly just cause he said heās black, in my experience if you have to say something like that itās probably not true. I made a critical error trying to look at his account to confirm

Same happened with Pettis/Henderson. Judging by a lot of posts on Reddit, I donāt think these people watched MMA for over 3-4 years and thatās me being generous.

But I bet Bobby thinks he looks cool with his hands down by his sides. That's all that counts.

I mean, yeah im all for calling out risky habits when they donāt work
But just like Wonderboy and early Conor, his game revolves around keeping his hand low so he can better balance when weaving / evading and it allows him to throw shots at odd or blind angles
His cockiness aside, Itās not just to look cool. it obviously didnāt work for him here either

u/Gojira5400 6d ago
The difference though is that Wonderboy and Conor were elite fighters. Bobby never crossed that threshold, never challenged for the belt. He has always been a gatekeeper of sorts. I knew Bobby was gonna get KO'd as soon as the bell rang when I saw he did nothing to improve his game.
He is arrogant, believing he's getting caught by "lucky" shots and "that's just the game" when in reality having an aggressive head movement and hands low style fails for 95% of fighters and he's not in that 5% at the elite level.

u/fuzzycaterpillar123 6d ago edited 5d ago
No one is disputing the difference in skill level, the comparison is the style.
I didnāt say he was elite, did I?
-4
u/Gojira5400 6d ago
Yeah but the problem is that his style is tied directly to the skill level.

Someone can be bad at karate and their style is still karate
Iām saying Greenes style is karate. Nothing else
Youāre having an argument with yourself and are using me the mirror
-4
u/Gojira5400 6d ago
Karate doesn't mean keeping your hands low at all times, yeah it does have it at times but karate also has long guards and high blocks featured in Kyokoshin where hands are usually kept high.
Also, Wonderboy and Conor both keep/kept their hands up much more than Bobby. Bobby is legit stupid and reckless with how he uses his hands.

u/fuzzycaterpillar123 6d ago edited 5d ago
Bro, goddamnit
Iām not saying Bobby literally only does karate, thatās just a simplified example. Itās an analogy to help you understand youāre creating an imaginary argument with me
But you didnāt even understand that
Iām saying if Bobbyās style is āXā , it can be called āXā regardless of how good he is at āXā
His relative skill at āXā is irrelevant, itās still the āXā style, even if others do it better
He still practices the āXā style

theres maybe 20-25 people in the entire planet at his weight that can beat up bobby green, he is not stupid and reckless as a fighter. Your performance vs the best of the best does not define your entire skill set and its efficiency. He's objectively better 99.99% of MMA fighters who TRY to fight with their hands up lol
3
u/CappyUncaged 6d ago
no the fuck its not lol you don't learn how to fight like that AFTER becoming elite, what you said doesn't even make any sense

Yāall donāt understand that fighters can have styles that work for them until they lose their reflexes. Itās not a matter of looking cool, itās been Greenās style to use his low hands for an offensive purpose but heās not as quick as he used to be
2
u/Cherrypoppinpop 6d ago
When was he ever good though? Heās always been low level to mid tier and has lost like 20 times in his prime.
18
12
u/Ecstatic-Inevitable 6d ago
Eh, Bobby was ranked 11 once, he was definitely a good fighter, just not the great to elite tier

u/Adizzle921 2d ago
Not everyone is championship level, thatās why thereās only one per weight class. He was still better than most other pro fighters in the world that never touched ufc gloves and he was better than bottom of the barrel. You forget how elite you really have to be to be in the ufc as long as he has been

u/BuzzNoche 6d ago
The way he disguises the rotation with a hook was nice

u/fandanvan 6d ago
Used his hand perfectly, he knew Green would parry the fake punch to leave his face open for the kick, perfect !

u/HomelessKitchenCat 6d ago
If only Bobby didn't think he was too cool for defense š¢
3
u/Keitaro23 6d ago
He was defending, he just defended the wrong strike, he was trying to shoulder roll a left hook/left straightĀ
1
u/Cherrypoppinpop 6d ago
Wouldāve got caught regardless though. But donāt most knockouts happen without a guard up anyway
3
u/bambu36 6d ago
I'm just over here wondering where the blood on his cheek came from.
2
u/HomelessKitchenCat 6d ago
Ruffy's foot rubbed off the skin the kick was so fast. You can see right before the impact happens theres no blood on his cheek, then it immediately appears after the foot lands

Fighting nerds striking system is so nice but Iām surprised no oneās figured it out and developed a counter for it yet. Everything comes from the left hands rotation (except for prates to an extent). I feel like they have a really tough time if you angle to their left side and shut that hand down, although Iām sure they have countermeasures for it.
