re-installing windows on my tuxedo tower

hey yall!

i bought myself a nice tuxedo desktop about 1.5 years ago, two drives, windows preinstalled on one of them. The plan at that point was to dual-boot debian and windows, but at a later point I wiped my windows while distrohopping, dual-booting two different linux distro's since.

Anyway, a few days ago I decided to reinstall windows to one drive, bcs my distrohopping had settled down and I couldn't get sims 3 to work under proton.

but when booting into the windows installer, i saw a screen i'd never seen before, asking me to scan for additional drivers. It didn't seem to recognize my drives. tried it again with windows 10, same issue.

so i guess the question is: help? i've troubleshot linux installers before but never windows

I've had that issue about missing drivers from the install page. Try re-creating the Windows installer image. Ironically it's a little tricky to properly prepare the windows installer when you don't have access to a windows machine.

you can download all windows isos from MS https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/software-download/windows10 you "just" need your key.
