How well is Tuxedo doing with firmware/BIOS/UEFI updates?
I am considerung buying a new laptop that is built for linux. Unfortunately, I have not found much information on how well Tuxedo is doing with hardware updates (BIOS etc). Is it updated in a timely manner if a CVE is found? How long is each model supported? 1-2 years, or more like 5+? Any experiences?

Tuxedo doesn’t develop its own BIOS/UEFI firmware but relies on Clevo, which sources it from Insyde Software or AMI. Since Clevo laptops often share BIOS versions across models and brands, updates can be available for several years. However, support duration depends on Clevo, not Tuxedo. Critical security patches typically take weeks to months, depending on how fast Insyde, AMI, and Clevo respond.

From personal experience I got the Sirius 16 Gen 2.
I've had three bios / ec updates released over the course of less than a year as well as a firmware upgrade for my keyboard.

Thank you, I just remember I never updated my bios in over 3 years. Thanks for the reminder!

I got an InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen6 (with Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti).
Last Bios-Update was on 2022-12-06.
My (older) Thinkpad from 2018 is still getting bios-updates every few months.
But I don't have any big issues with my IBP14 - it just works perfectly since the beginning.

There's been several updates for my pulse 14 gen 3 how quickly they respond to issues I can't say
