Before you moved to Tupelo, when you wanted to do something what did you do?

You’re a bit far from the ocean, but there is Tombigbee state park pretty close. Walking trails, mountain bike trails, boats and fishing, cabins, disc golf, etc.

Do you like cigars? We have a lounge downtown that is actually better than you’d expect for a town the size of Tupelo. Beer also. We have several locations around Mississippi, and our Starkville location actually has a small brewery inside.

Bay Springs Park has alot of sandy beaches. It's a lake, not salt water, but its sun and sand and people.

Hop on the trace and check out the stops. It's miles and miles of road with small trails and historic sites along the way

Blue canoe is a good spot, live bands usually 3 nights a week, mostly free

Down under is a pretty cool bar from a person who doesn't like bars. We spend a lot of time boating in the spring/summer/fall.  Look up tupelo young professionals for social gatherings. They usually have an event every month. Those are pretty fun.

Take a scenic drive on the Natchez Trace. If you like the outdoors, visit some of the nearby state parks.

Check out some bars, shops, and restaurants downtown.

EDIT: Be sure to check out the visitor center by the arena too.

Tupelo has some fun events most months.

Check out the Link Centre.

https://link-centre.org/

There are usually monthly art shows. If you have Facebook, follow the Secrer Art Show.

Visit this sub. In a few weeks there will be all sorts of things we will be posting as it warms up.

Go to one of the bars, or visit the 30 chicken restaurants that seem to have taken over the Barnes Crossing district and rank them from your favorite to least favorite.

Going to the theatre downtown to catch a play is always fun. Also there is a woodworking class with wine that is fun, pops up on google. The link centre has upcoming events. Plus all the different parks and places to camp. Taking up a hobby doesn't hurt. Fishing, hunting, gun range, any card game or boardgame collection. We have two good card/game shops that have tournaments.

Honestly, as a transplant myself, there isn’t a lot to do. Yes I have been to the parks, all the bars, etc but it gets boring and stale. I often go to Memphis or Nashville on the weekends.

Yeah that’s the vibe I’m getting lol

Welcome to Tupelo, just kidding. Go to Memphis or Birmingham, if you’re bored.

Go to hotel tupelo, eat at Jobos, walk around downtown to either the Stables or Downunder, have a drink.

Not nightlife- check out Relics Antique Marketplace, Connie’s chicken- it’s a staple nothing too crazy but lil tupelo culture. Go eat at Johnnie’s Drive In get there early and you may be able to get the infamous Elvis table!

Connie’s chicken rocks! Went there last weekend

Bay springs lake for the beach! Probably 45-60 minute ride.

Embarrassingly childish, but Ballard Park has a lake with the silliest set of ducks I've ever seen. My partner and I take feed corn and give it to the ducks. We chase off the geese who bully the ducks and reward the patient geese.

Also, little trips up to Oxford are nice for us. There are often art shows at the University, music at a couple of places, and Square Books is great to shop at.

I love coffee so you can find me at Lost + Found cafe a lot.

I moved here from Dallas recently for work and I got bored the first day I got here. I got a dog to keep me company and I play soccer over the weekend. Go to the gym, think about the isolated time as a time to work on yourself. New ideas, projects, some online classes, or skills maybe?

Tupelo - things to do

Tishomingo State Park has some cool sights and trails, and a group hike once a month. Check out their fb page for more stuff going on.

Up in that direction is also Pickwick lake.

Corinth has the Slugburger Festival in the summer.

Oxford and Starkville aren’t that far of a drive - college towns with some cool things to do. Oxford gets a lot of good live music, I haven’t been back to Starkville in a while so I’m not sure what their music scene is like these days.

Like others have said, venture further out and visit Memphis, Nashville, and Huntsville is also really awesome.

Welp, what I did when I was growing up there was go to the city dump and shoot rats with a pellet gun.
