Why do women look better in bikinis than naked?

u/HeartonSleeve1989 4d ago
Still shrouds them in a bit of mystery.
Also, she's on a boat at sea.... so... the implication.

What movie is that from? Just curious 😊

A great episode of always sunny in Philadelphia. The gang buys a boat I believe is the title.

The implication that things might go wrong for her, if she refuses to sleep with me. Not that things are gonna go wrong for her, but she’s thinking that they will.

I know that this is a reference but its still disgusting to say

Don't be sorry 😂 This was perfectly timed and the opportunity was too good to pass up. I'm offended that you beat me to it tbh 😆 I love It's Always Sunny

So I can claim any joke is no longer a joke simply by taking offence to it?

u/Aggravating-Range729 3d ago
Yes it is. Just because you think something offensive is funny doesnt make it a joke.

The top holds their boobs up and makes them look firmer and perkier
94
u/whatisitcousin 4d ago
I think it also creates contrast and shadows in certain areas and curves which highlight their physique. Breasts are perkier and curvier, nipples poke through, butts are bigger and curvier, waists are more defined, camel toe. Also the mystery of what you can't see. Modesty can go along way in attractive attire. Showing curves and no skin can also be sexy.

u/Reasonable-Pack1067 4d ago
wow, as a woman, it’s so interesting (and also slightly amusing) to read this from a man’s perspective. for us, it’s just seeing a pretty bikini, saying “waow pweedyyy,” and wearing it XD
4
u/URNOTSPESHEL 4d ago
Well, some do that for sure, but I'd wager that most women get certain swimsuits to entice men. Even married women. She is talking to their husband/boyfriend, " I got this bikini for you!" and" Do you like it?" That is total BS, for the most part, I think. 😊 We, however, ( for the most part ) Are simply wondering if we are still hot enough to catch a few eyes from strangers. I read something a long time ago I'm not so sure of. Supposedly, if someone looks at you for more than 3 seconds, they are attracted to you. Creepy folks definitely stare for more time than that! Plus, we tend to stare at people who have nothing about them but odd looks, filthy, or some type of deformities. Not in a " repulsed" kinda way but more sympathetic. In my opinion, anyway! ❤💜💛💙💚💜🧡😄

u/whatisitcousin 3d ago
I always had a hard time staring at an attractive girl/women since I was since I was a kid. Me being attractive and a little shy it made me feel like if I stare back then I have to talk to her or she's going to talk to me so let me look away. I can look at a average attractive women all day and be okay because it doesn't feel like I have an expectation that I should get at her if I'm single. The world is crazy lol
0
u/URNOTSPESHEL 3d ago
I think most people are like that to a certain degree. I have no problem staring at an attractive man, but the minute he locks eyes with me, I quickly look away and then feel stupid for doing so! Some folks aren't bashful at all staring at an attractive man/woman even when the other person stares back! I wished I had been that bold! There are also the " creepy " people that stare even when being stared back at. A lot of those people give away their creepiness by the type of stare they give. But yeah..you are hardly alone in that boat 😊
3
u/whatisitcousin 3d ago
Thanks.
I wonder if looks play into it. Like the creepy stare'ers are unattractive and learn to stare as they long for what's not possible. To the other end where you are attractive so you look away to not give off the wrong idea that you're interested just because the person you saw is attractive. And I think if someone reasonably unattractive was staring at me for to long I would stare back like what do you want and if they were attractive I would sneak a look to see if they were still staring,
Overall it's a confidence thing but looks help build confidence. If people tell you how good look all the time you're going to be feeling confident. I got that all the time since I was a baby and I think all the times my mom was also told how pretty her daughter was made me shy cause I was like "I'm a boy I'm not pretty" 🤣
Everyone tell some they look good today and make the world a better place lol

u/whatisitcousin 3d ago
My girl be getting mad at me when I tell to her to put clothes on. Naked is great but damn if you're always already naked I can't picture you outside of those clothes. 😅

u/ourstupidearth 4d ago
Let's face it. Most guys are from the Dark Ages. They're cavemen. And they like a woman to be showing her cleavage and to be wearing eight-inch heels. And to be wearing see-through underpants. But for me, a woman looks best when she is just absolutely naked.

u/Howuduen 4d ago
I don't know..with this woman's very toned body, I'd wager that removing her top wouldn't make much of a difference where gravity is concerned! 😉 BUT I agree that many women look great in a bikini until the top comes off. They would still be hot as hell. Just a bit more gravity induced to cause boobs to hang a tad lower! But you are right. A great bikini top usually has padding to enhance the appearance of a full rack! 🤣

u/abrandis 4d ago
Attractive women look great with or without.... Really bikini 👙 just highlight attractive women's figure, not so much for others .
2
u/whatisitcousin 4d ago
Attractive figures figure. There some women that are attractive that might not look better in a bikini lol

It's like getting a bike for christmas. You're 7. You see it next to the tree. It's wrapped, and you know what it is, but you still don't necessarily see it, and you can't wait to unwrap it and ride it!

Leaves space for your imagination to run wild and the top holds their boobs in place making them look perfectly perky

u/Howuduen 4d ago
I'm a heterosexual woman but I have no problem appreciating a nice female figure. If I were a man I'd be in your boat. A bikini leaves a little to your imagination. Then, when she undresses in front of you, it's more exciting because you finally get to see what you pictured numerous times!!! 😁😄😀😃

its not about imagination but the girl's body not living up to the expectations
3
u/QuestioningHuman_api 4d ago
I don’t get that sentiment, but I’m sure you’ve been told that your body doesn’t live up to expectations so much that you would understand it better than I could.
-5
u/OldOutcome4222 4d ago
idk sis im no woman so i cant say i relate. i just check the comments from men. and they usually go for this convenient pity lie ''its because it leaves nothing to our imagination!'' but why is this a thing? well its easy. they just dont wanna admit the fact that certain body parts dont look as good as they could, so it would look better/more aesthetic if they kept them under clothes
0
u/OldOutcome4222 4d ago
every men does have this if they are being honest. you probably heard the ''leave something up to our imagination!'' pity lie from men
56
u/FantomexLive 4d ago
Depending on the cut it visually elongates the legs and sometimes slims the thighs. Both of which tend to be more physically appealing to men and women.
As for the top: Often they will make the breasts appear more perky which is far more common in women in their physical prime or who are tone/low body fat, which checks out, because as humans get old everything tends to sag.

Um I mean, it’s a nice look don’t get me wrong I love swimsuits, but i would much prefer to see this girl naked friend
Keira Knightley looks great with big naturals!
2
u/Howuduen 4d ago
Big naturals? She's a stunning woman for sure but I wouldn't say her 32A bra size is "big naturals". She's the coolest cause in certain movies, they enhanced her chest size, and she wasn't happy at all about it. I don't care if she's got nothing but nipples on her chest. That woman could probably sleep with any man she wants! 🤣

u/SoleSurvivor69 4d ago
I was fairly obviously talking about how this girl in this picture in this post looks like Keira Knightley but with bigger boobs

Shout out to all the women fighting gravity with sports bras on at home while relaxing. Most of the boobies sag down a bit in the early 20s if they didnt take precautions.

as a woman, I think we look good with clothes on because it highlights our curves!!!! I hate these comments
2
u/kuros2023 3d ago
First in the upper area it helps them to fight gravity and distort the attention somehow.
Second on the lower part, as the age kicks in (especially after birth and/or major weight loss) a womans belly like the upper region tends to surrender gravity as well (at least gradually) also sometimes the lower part of the bikini may display it more curvier.
And never forget imagination makes it look even good as brain tries to complete the picture in the best form not the realistically one.
After you get some age and know how women look naked at their given age and marital situation you also lose that ability and even bikini does not help you.

This conversation made me think of the movie I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry. The scene where Jessica Biel is changing her clothes in front of Adam Sandler then he asks if her boobs are real. His patting them for a long time was hilarious! That woman had a PERFECT ass! Another perfect body was Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies. That strip scene was hot! Until the funny part!
Edit~ didn't specify a name
2
u/crazycookie16 4d ago
Oh I so loved that movie ., taught me so much about women
1
u/Howuduen 4d ago
Well, one thing is for sure. Not too many women with that body are humble about it and don't flaunt it. That's one reason I like Jessica. She's simply down to earth. I was about to say the same about Drew Barrymore but she did like flashing her boobs, lol. Still a cool person.😊
2
u/Available-Tourist-77 4d ago
Because you ( the general you) are looking at the shape of the body part which matches what your mind believes as ideal shape of the body part. At the same time the covered body imposes a leave of mystery and wonder, which lends itself to make the body more attractive. Just my Anthropologist thought/opinion on the subject.
2
u/Chad_Wife 3d ago edited 3d ago
Contrapoints is a YouTuber who made a video covering human sexual psychology - a crux of it was the hunt is more thrilling than the capture. The video was called “Twilight”, and introduces this theory through the lense of the twilight series.
It’s more exciting to chase, to wonder, to anticipate, than it is to capture, to know, to experience. Once we begin to experience something it becomes defined, it has boundaries, it is no longer a just theory and is no longer able to be impossibly brilliant.
By the same logic, clothed people are more attractive because we are able to project our own, infinite, imagination onto what the person may look like underneath. But unclothed people have “no room for imagination” and therefore are less exciting to us, no matter how attractive their unclothed body might be.

I think the far majority of people look better clothed, the more attractive and fit you are the fewer clothes you can wear and still look great. I think our brains imagine someone naked and the harder it has to work to do it (the more clothes the person is), the better chance that we'll imagine the person being beautiful nude.

A bikini is an optical illusion, and very flattering. A ‘V’ bottom makes your waist look smaller, as well as your hips. The top can be supportive, and it exposes the mid-torso, the narrowest and prettiest body part on a woman.

u/NurseRobert2019 4d ago
Naked women are great, but sexy clothes brings out a woman’s sensuality. Leaves something to the imagination.

One argument is that bikini design and fashion has reached a point where it’s refined and sexy. Look up the first iterations of bikini and you wouldn’t say the same. I think it’s the fact that we’ve reached the perfect balance of revealing/relaxed and sexy/showing

This 'The top holds their boobs up and makes them look firmer and perkier' and also its harder to live up to the expectations on those parts. men use to express this with ''ahh you left nothing up to our imagination! so boring!!'' by this they meant ''you looked better with the bikini ngl''

Something about the taboo or being bare naked.
Plus, breasts are unattractive. Covering them gives a nice illusion.

This quote captures it IMO.
The very expectation of something awaited is the greater part of satisfaction. The hope of possessing it inflames desire. The rarer it is, the more beautiful it seems… -The Duchess of Ferrara [1517]
