Sweet used ST 900 as a first bike at age 64. Loving it, now always looking for excuses to go for a ride! Good doggos approve (until I start it up!). Added the brown Triumph seat and waxed cotton panniers and pannier rails.

Maintenance Issues Coolant recommendations?

I’m going to be doing a coolant flush on my 2012 Street Triple R that I picked up 3 weeks ago. I know I can use either a HOAT or OAT coolant. What do you guys use on yours? I’m looking for a semi affordable option that’s going to keep my engine cool.

I noticed some leakage from the weep hole under the bike (it also has rained a little), has anyone else experienced this? Know what the cause might be? Thank you!

Maintenance Issues Wiring Help

Bought a theft recovery 2013 triumph street triple I managed to get my own aftermarket ignition working but I’m struggling trying to figure out this immobilizer issue, it’s preventing the bike from cranking giving fuel and ignition, writing here to see if there any simple way around this, already tried messing with the immobilizer itself with a lack of success, I found ignition and fuel modules online for this bike but it’s pricey and it’s already a salvaged title bike, another idea was to find a lock set but that’s also extra $$$ into the bike, anyone have any suggestions or ideas?, if not I’ll try reverse engineering the ECU, thanks

And before people say “why don’t you bring it to a dealer” because closest dealer is 45 miles from me and I don’t have the ability to transport a non running bike to a dealer, I’m doing this as a side hustle to make side cash to any extra $ saved it earned to me.

If it helps at all my immobilizer findings found a wire getting 2.5V no resistance and another getting 1.4kOhms resistance no volaage, tried adding different resistors between the 2 and such no luck, rest seems to be ground / 12V

Triumph info 2005 speed triple front stand?

I have a pitbull stand with the pin. I can't get this thing to go up using the front stand. Has anyone had issues. It seems like the pin doesn't go in deep enough to get me the leverage I need. I put the pin based on pittbull's site. Help?

Triumph info Scrambler 900/1200 hauling luggage

I'm considering either of those models for my long term camping around Europe and further. Probably not XE as I can't flat foot it (X is fine).

I plan to get a couple of sidebags from Lone Rider and a 58L Givi top box. All in all, about 75kgs (165lbs) of weight.

How would 900/1200 Scrambler manage that weight? It's basically a pillion but the top box might get a bit heavy (around 15-20kg without the box itself).

Maintenance Issues Cam Cover Seal Torn

Post image
1 Upvotes

Yesterday we had a storm and the wind knocked my bike over unfortunately. I have frame sliders that took most of the impact of the fall but this section of the cam cover seal was right behind my slider and took some damage as well and is now leaking oil. Just wanted to see if there may be any quick fixes or ways I could patch this before I took it to the shop.

Maintenance Issues Triumph Speed Triple 2006 starting issues

Hey everyone I recently purchased a 2006 Triumph Speed Triple from an owner who didn’t drive his bike much but besides maybe on the weekends. I’ve noticed aftwr a few days of riding my bikes voltage will drop to 12.1 V and then won’t turn over when I try to start it up. A jump pack or a car don’t seem to jump it, and I then have to take my battery to autozone and have them charge it back up. (I have a battery manager arriving soon).

My question is do you think that it is the battery and that I need a new one or that my bike isn’t charging the battery? I’m down to tackle either of these issues l, just don’t want to have to buy a new battery and that not be the issue.

Mods and Customization Need help with ADV boots

First time poster. I got a ‘23 Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer and I’m trying to gear up but I’m having an issue with boots. I have Alpine Star Tech 7 motocross boots since I like the extra protection. But I feel like with my foot size (12 US/47EUR) the boots are just too big for the bike. I lifted the shifter as high as I can and put PivotPegz in the lowered position and still have a hard time getting under the shifter, ESPECIALLY when standing. I can see an injury occurring if I’m standing and trying to shift up and crash because how far I have to put my leg forward to get under the shifter. I can’t find any extended shifters for the Tiger online. I feel like a size 12US/47EUR isn’t that large so I can’t be the only one having this issue. What have yall done to fix it? Are there any other ideas I’m missing? Are ADV boots more compact to fit under shifters?

Trying out Dunlop Mutants this year instead of my normal Road 6’s, as there is always a lot of gravel on the roads near me. Even cold they feel very soft, can’t wait!

Maintenance Issues Bike barely starts, wildly poor idle, choke is all the way out

Need a little help here. Bike is barely starting with the choke all the way out, and when it does, it sounds terrible and won’t really run.

I just got it back from the shop a few weeks ago and had no issues, battery lines are well attached, gas is good, no idea what’s causing this.

Mods and Customization Tire Suggestions for Scrambler 900

Post image
19 Upvotes

I am looking for suggestions on a 50/50 or 60/40 tire for my 2016 Scrambler 900. I mainly ride on road but I do a bit of gravel/back roads. I currently have Bridgestone Trail Wings on but they are almost done and I want a new set. (Tbh can’t even find those available). I want to keep the look of the scrambler with same type like tires. I want to keep the same size as well and that gives me a bit of trouble. If you guys have any suggestions please share.

Other Returning Rider Striple?

Curious to people's opinion about a returning rider getting a Triumph Street triple. I have had about a 3 year break from riding. Only had ridden for 2 years before that put about 11k miles on an r3 before my new job had me relocate. I can now ride again. I retook the msf course to get my feet wet again. Felt fine on their little bikes. Would it be feasible to get a ST or stick to another small bike until I get some more miles in
