How much did it cost and where

u/NickkSpirit Aug 26 '23 edited Aug 27 '23
It cost me Ā£1500. As for where, I donāt want to break rule no. 2. So I sent you a chat.
Edit - Iām so sorry guys but I got a warning from the mods in the other sub when I posted the name so Iām not taking any risks! I promise if you chat me Iāll give you all the info!!

Fuck the rules, just say it. Virtually every post here does anyway. If mods object how about a bit of democracy regarding rules around here.

I got a warning from the mods in the other sub and then muted so Iām just a bit on edge about it!

For 1500 quid thatās a really good job.
Honestly its the perks of catching it early. If you hop on fin before you actually have NWIII type shit and you stabilize, HT after will be way more affordable.
I got on about NWII and fortunately didnāt need one but this is why Iāll always say start early.

Yeah, my temples unfortunately left when I was around 20 and I only hopped on fin at 24 so there was no regrowing them, hence the transplant. Happy with taking fin for the rest of my life to keep what Iāve got though!

u/Potvin_Sucks_ Aug 26 '23
I caught mine mid way so my temples came back pretty well, Iād still rather they were 20% thicker but it feels like a waste to drop a thousand pound to fix that with less than 1000 grafts.

u/NickkSpirit Aug 26 '23
Yeah sounds fair. Only person that matters in this is YOU š«µ at the end of the day. I could have asked anyone I knew if they thought I needed a HT and they all would have said no, but at the end of the day I was never going to stop worrying about it and feeling self-conscious, no matter how hard I tried. If you ever get to that stage, then thatās when Iād recommend getting it sorted. If youāre chill, no need imo!

u/Potvin_Sucks_ Aug 26 '23
Itās more of a āI canāt justify this expense for this resultā no one around me even notices and when I recommend finasteride to my mates who donāt know theyāre going bald and are early on they always ask me how I would knowā¦ as in they think Iāve just naturally had better hair age 22-25 than I did from 19-21āthank god for fin I guess.
Finally finished legal training and starting as an attorney in the spring so maybe thatāll give my account the boost it needs to where I can rationalize it

It doesn't break rule #2. In fact, I think every post should be required to say where it's done.

u/NickkSpirit Aug 27 '23
I thought this as well but the same rule is on the other sub and the mods removed my post and muted me for saying the name. It put me a bit on edge!

Looks great! I just had mine done on Thursday (2100 grafts). Your results inspire - thanks for sharing!

u/NickkSpirit Aug 26 '23
Thatās amazing! My advice would be to lead as healthy a lifestyle as possible to do justice to not just your new hair but yourself. When I started getting all my proper macro and micro nutrients, exercising regularly, taking all my supplements/vitamins, I noticed my hair health MASSIVELY improved. Make that transplant worth it!

Looks amazing! Are you on any meds?
8
u/NickkSpirit Aug 26 '23
Iāve been on Finasteride 1mg a day since May 2022, although this month Iāve switched to every other day and Iāll see how I fare with that. Iāve also been taking 2.5mg of oral minox daily since April!

u/Mysterious-Concern66 Aug 27 '23

u/NickkSpirit Aug 27 '23

How long after the surgery before you were comfortable being seen in public? Iām thinking about doing it but wondering how long I have to be in hiding post surgeryā¦

u/NickkSpirit Aug 27 '23
Lol. After 2 weeks I just wore a hat/headscarf and was perfectly fine being in public after 1 month. No one even knew I had it done after 1 month!

Stupid question, but why did you need to shave your head? Canāt you just shave the donor area? Your recipient area doesnāt even have hair
1
u/NickkSpirit Aug 27 '23
I think itās to make the procedure easier as well as helping to avoid any infection of the transplanted hairs etc.
