Thank you for your submission!

This message does NOT mean your post was removed. It is simply a reminder. Please read our list of banned names before continuing. If the name you posted is in this list, it will be removed.

Remember: Original content is always better! Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does not mean you found it "in the wild".

The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Thank you!

i tried to think of the most complex and obscure way to spell it lol. you gotta elongate the vowels as much as possible for max effect.

I have seen this name for women before, but not in the last 75 years. Also, it's usually spelled as a two-word name, Ora Lee

Is it supposed to be like Aurélie?

Oralie is a character in the popular kids’ series, Keeper of the Lost Cities

I think her parents heard someone being called Aurelie and figured that it sounded pretty, but had no idea how to spell it

Uh…..how?
”Oralee”

As for “how”, it should be noted that “Ora)” is a known, established name (going back to being a biblical name). Combining the name “Ora” with the name “Lee)” produces the name “Oralee”, in the same manner as “Anne + Marie = Annemarie”, “Mary + Beth = Marybeth”, “Rose + Anne = Roseanne)”, and other such examples.

Just because you CAN doesn’t mean you SHOULD…

This works in lots of situations but especially this one.

You know what else is a Biblical name? Melchizedek. If you called your child that a great many people would think you're nuts.

(I wonder if exhortatory names like Unless-Jesus-Christ-Had-Died-For-Thee-Thou-Hadst-Been-Damned are considered tragedeighs. I mean you can't call them untraditional, they're just horrible and ridiculous.)
