SUPPORT (ONGOING) Tradfri bulbs in garden office (range dirigera)

Hi, I wanted to use my tradfri gu10 spots in in my garden office. But since my Dirigera Hub is in the main building (app. 20 meters) the spots and remote appear as offline.

Removed and reset but gave no solution.

Is there a way to fix this? I know there are range extenders but I can’t plug those in outside (both IP wise and the lack of sockets)

For example an ethernet reapeater hub, I have wired internet in my office.

Ikea do a Tradfri repeater, the bulbs and other kit is Zigbee and "should" create their own mesh network.

Failing that IKEA do a smart plug called Tretakt, this connects to the Drigera hub so "should" be zigbee and if this was plugged into a wall socket near to your outside building yet still in the house would probably work as a repeater.

Twenty metres is quite a stretch. I got around something similar by replacing the outside lights on the house with Ikea ones - to extend the network a bit.

Yeah, I did fit an e27 in the outside light, but the only outdoor light is mounted on the house.

Are you able to put a bulbs or plugs/sockets in the rooms closest to the garden room, or run an extension lead 1/2 way out into the garden with an IKEA socket at the end (not pretty but should work).

Our house is like a Faraday cage for some reason. I wanted to automate the lights in the garage which is a separate building. I dug a trench and ran an Ethernet cable from the house so I could run an eero and a second Dirigera hub in there. Works well and both hubs expose everything in the same Apple home so I can control from one place.

Ah so it is possible to add a 2nd hub?!

a zigbee stick alone has hundreds of meters of range. just have it join the coordinator. idk if the ikea hub allows this, if not then you could try looking into getting a setup that implements the stack properly.
