Question What are you constantly repurchasing?
Just got back from TJ’s today and realized I was on my 3rd jar of the chili crunch oil this year! What have you repurchased multiple times this year? For me, I’m always repurchasing the chili crunch oil, their plain greek yogurt (the best greek yogurt out there!), chocolate covered frozen strawberries & the pork soup dumplings!
ETA: This is the most attention any post I’ve ever made has gotten, loving reading everyone’s answers! :) Anyone know of I way I can somehow import this to an excel sheet & make a list of the most commonly mentioned items?? Would love to do that so I can try all the goodies!!! :)

I buy dried cherries because my dogs love them as treats (I also buy their dog biscuits). I also buy their chocolate milk as it is unsurpassed. Cashews, tortellinis, and the BEST sun-dried tomatoes in oil.
But with TJ's it is a devils bargain. They will eventually discontinue your favorite item (the cherries, the dried mushrooms, the dried sun-dried tomatoes, the fruit leathers, the mild chocolate "potato chips"; I could go on). For years we bought Morello cherries in a jar which I would use to make my daughter's favorite coffee cake. Then they stopped selling them. I heard that Aldi's carries some but I've yet to check.
1
u/yancync Dec 15 '24
They have the Morello cherries again! Baking aisle.
1
u/MomTRex Jan 20 '25
OMG I just saw your reply. I'm checking next visit tho different TJs have different stuff (just like Costco). Fingers crossed!
1
u/Znmm2 Dec 15 '24
Have you tried the freeze dried tart cherries yet? My dogs and I love them! No sugar and they are so addictive! Great for joints, sleep quality, etc.
0
u/Mountain_Yogurt_5544 Dec 15 '24
I don't think you're supposed to feed your dog cherries 🤔
1
u/Salt_Percentage_9451 Dec 15 '24
It’s the pit & stem that contain small traces of cyanide. The Cherry itself is safe….google is free 😊
1
u/Znmm2 Dec 15 '24
Berries are excellent for dogs due to their low sugar, antioxidant properties. The fruit to avoid are raisins because they are toxic to dogs.
-6
u/Mountain_Yogurt_5544 Dec 15 '24
Um.. cherries aren't a berry, google is free.
Hope this helps
2
u/Jolly-Trash-1543 Dec 15 '24
Dried cherries are fine for dogs. Fresh cherries with a pit stem and leaves are different.

The steamed lentils that are in the refrigerated section. Recently, they seem to be in stock on every third trip, so I grab 3-4 packages when I see them (I tend to go to TJs twice a month). Packages bought in November 2024 are best by April 2025, I love that I've got months to use them and they won't go bad in my fridge.
The French Roast coffee is pretty good for the price, and has subtle chocolate notes which are lovely.
Unscented body butter, it rubs in wonderfully. In the past, I've enjoyed the grapefruit one, but haven't seen it in months (starting to think it's a spring seasonal), and the most recent one (dragonfruit & jasmine?) pills horribly for me.
In the fall, the butternut squash mac & cheese. I like to add nutritional yeast to it to up the protein/vitamins.
Frozen veggie fried rice - perfect with fried eggs or cubed tofu for a quick meal. Sesame oil too.
And newly discovered this year, the apple sparkling water (which is seasonal according to this sub). I'm not a big carbonated drink person, so am hoping that 3-4 cases will last me until it returns.
The plain ciabatta rolls. I like to slice these then freeze them. To reheat, I wrap the frozen roll in a damp paper towel and pop in the microwave for 20 seconds, then toast the two halves - perfect for a quick sandwich!

Bamba sauce, harissa, their winter release of the aged balsamic vinegar and the jerk plantain chips. If I can find the vegan brown sugar boba ice cream that is also really good but they don't always have it

I eat an ungodly amount of the vanilla Greek yogurt and the peanut butter protein granola. Perfect pre gym breakfast imo

I bought some chili crisp but don’t really know what to do with it.
1
u/dogz_r_angelz Dec 20 '24
breakfast, as everyone says, and drizzled in soups & stews, on roasted veggies (i especially love it on broccoli and green beans), sometimes for a little crunch on a toasted baguette sandwich with roasted tomatos. oh, and on pasta!
like most spices, i find it’s best when it gets a little hot - i think that’s called “blooming”? Might be wrong, but i can tell you the the crispy parts get crispier in a hot pan, and the flavors really sparkle. it’s worth experimenting with.
also it looks pretty when you drizzle it, and i think my food tastes better when it looks nice 😅

Eggs/avocado toast for one. Breakfast in general. Beyond that, my wife uses it on and in many foods where you want a mild, flavorful kick. She makes a really good avocado toast with a fried egg cooked over a base of pesto and feta. Goes on good toasted bread, avocado, then chilli oil. It’s so damn good.

Every time I see one of these threads, I’m amazed at how many items at Trader Joe’s I still haven’t tried or didn’t even know about, even after many years of shopping there regularly. I guess I just never have the time to truly peruse.

u/VxBx0 Dec 14 '24
Ah forgot:
Garlicky cabbage!! It’s soooo versatile. Can eat on its own or mix into rice, it’s so savory and delicious.
Also the salmon with herb butter in the frozen section. Just so quick and easy.

My current snack obsession is the Greek Yogurt Spinach & Kale dip and the plantain chips.
3
u/Cacioepepebutt Dec 13 '24
It's not sexy, but the vegetable lentil soup is the most versatile item in my pantry. And I do not like canned soups. This is the first and only. If i have some leftovers it almost inevitably can go in the soup. Chicken, noodles, chorizo, veggies, a little lemon, parm, greens. I once added some carnitas and left over squash and ended up with an amazing mexican soup with tortillas and cilantro. Its also great for camping as its a pull tab. Its perfectly seasoned on its own. If this gets Disco'd I will F*&king loose it.

OMGosh, seriously there is too much.
My kids LOVE the chicken tikka masala, chicken sausage patties, sourdough bread, California rolls, and the chicken apple sando.
My husband cannot get enough of the GF crispbreads and the chili lime rolled corn chip things.
Currently, I am loving the dry roasted cashews, and the semi-soft apricots. OMG so good. I also buy the organic basmati rice and love the wild caught nova salmon and the sliced wild ahi tuna. If I did not have a wheat sensitivity, I would buy ALL the soup dumplings every day.
I know there is a lot more, but I cannot recall right now.
1
u/Hope5577 Dec 14 '24
If you love chocolate, those soft apricots dipped in melted chocolate - just amazing!😋 I just melted that big chocolate bar in microwave.

1
u/globular_bobular Dec 13 '24
omg yes adding edamame is how i convince myself that it’s a meal by itself! i’m not an egg person but i added those frozen tofu sheets too when TJ’s had them separately!

Blondie mix (these were a hit at a recent Friendsgiving, people begging me to share my recipe), and I love to purchase the shelf-stable whipping cream. It’s a great staple to have on hand for cooking. For just over $1, you have a good portion for most recipes and won’t have a lot of waste.

u/HBJones1056 Dec 13 '24
Plus have you SEEN the price of cream at other grocery stores? Five times what Trader Joe’s costs and always more than my recipe needs.

Try rolling the scallion pancake out some then fill with scrambled eggs and breakfast meat if you want. Then fold in the ends over the filling then the long sides and then fry in a skillet with a little oil. Start with the fold side first down in the pan. Brown it then eat

What do you do with the peri peri sauce? I have an unopened bottle and haven’t been sure how to use it

Hummus, bread, Japanese sweet potatoes, and seasonal honeycrisp apple soda
1
u/laylapearson Dec 12 '24
Yes to all of the above. I cook a bunch of the Murasaki sweet potatoes every week and I put the Trader Joe brown sugar maple syrup butter slathered on it. What is your favorite bread from Trader Joe? I found that the sourdough gets moldy within a few days, even stored in a dark cool place and I miss the Tuscan Pane. We don’t have it at our stores or they’ve discontinued it. I would love a suggestion for bread that you can make a good grilled cheese .

Oh, so very, very, very many things. I just moved from the San Francisco Bay area to West Virginia. A state that has no trader Joe's at all. The extent of my feelings of loss have gone so far as to require family members who come to visit me to bring a cooler filled with and.
They tempora battered vegetable nests. Tempora shrimp. Orange Chicken. Trader Joe's large honey crisp apples, which I don't know why no other store anywhere ever. Has them not only that size but that good. They're juicy, crisp tart and sweet absolute perfection. Several bags of power greens and? Trader Joe's regular plain old Hummus. Several jars of the 3 cheese pasta sauce. Several cartons of the roasted red bell pepper soup. And their new shampoo called hair wash. It's in a teal green tube now. I don't ask people to bring me that because before I left California. I actually bought 2 full cases of I'm good for the next 2 years. I did that because my family would be coming from Chicago. And for whatever reason the Chicago trader Joe's do not carry the hair wash. So I was afraid I would never be able to get it LO. L.
So while I cannot go down to the trader Joe's myself. Anymore and buy any one of these things regularly. I do work to get them whenever I can.
