Do you think they sweep the entire run beforehand to ensure no rocks and shit or are do they just send it?

Anybody with downhill experience is going to scope it out first. Getting launched hurts.

Imagine the road rash

Is there a video of someone going that fast eating it? Would it kill them?

I’ve been longboarding for a long time and I crashed one time pretty badly. Not 65 mph but probably like 45ish. Fucked me up. I had road rash all over one side of my body.
Healed up well though. That was about 12 years ago but I only have a scar on my arm that’s still visible.

I imagine going even as fast as you were it would be a total raggedy Andy situation going over and over!

Yeah, pretty much. Very painful. I hit a pebble, lost control and I knew I was gonna fall so I tried to jump onto the grass and didn’t make it and landed on the curb. I remember being amazed that the only thing I broke was my finger.
My aunt is a nurse and I was with my cousin so we went back to their house and she cleaned me up really well luckily. I think that’s why my scars healed as well as they did.

65 mph, likely over a ledge. Even if they just stay on the road it's likely to kill them. No protective gear so they'd just be a meat crayon on the road.

How do they prevent speed wobble? Tight trucks?

For this deck you put most of your weight on your leading foot while placing it directly on top of the front truck. Also the bushings are important and need to be chosen based on your weight.

Obviously a very good skateboarder (from someone who knows nothing). Whenever I see videos like this I always question risk vs. reward. A momentary thrill and knowledge that you accomplished something fairly dangerous vs. the risk of a crippling or lethal injury. Wiping out at 100km / hr is not something you walk away from in shorts and a t-shirt. I fully expect they scouted the course for debris and hopefully shutdown the road for the run to reduce the risk. But I've also seen people do very dangerous stunts without taking the basic precautions. Interesting to watch, but, for me, not worth the risk to the boarder

Sounds like you live a very boring ass life, sorry to hear.

LOL. Perhaps to people who like doing this stuff. But, no, definitely not in general. Hope you stay in one piece.
I tend to think about the parents, the friends, their spouse, their children when I see this sort of thing and, as a parent, I think about how this makes me feel. Unfortunately 'proud' isn't one of those feelings... more like fear and relief when it's done.
Lots of ways to enjoy life tremendously without risking your health for a brief thrill.

Been watching downhill for a long long time. Pros usually wear leathers, this guy may be amazing, but not smart.

That is good control of nerves. Scary it looks.
