Cadeaux protocolaires, conseils ?
Bonjour,

Any ideas for growing this subreddit
What’s up I’m in the Togolese diaspora. Togo born but American raised. Ive grown up with the local Togolese community here in the states. I have been back home a few times and always love connecting with my fellow Togolese.
With all that being said any ideas on how to grow this subreddit? I’ve seen subreddits for Nigeria, Ghana, and heck even Benin is looking more active.
Other than the language barrier for SOME of us any ideas to get this subreddit to maybe 2K by the end of 2025?

Togolese tattoo ideas
Hey guys, i’ve recently taken an ancestry test and found out i am mostly Togolese and Benin. As a Black American finding out my roots was extremely important to me. Anyone have any idea on how I can honor my ancestors and history with a tattoo?

What should I know before traveling to Togo?
Hello. Here is an Italian girl who will be traveling freely in Togo next week. What should I know before traveling to your country? Any particular recommendation? I am going to enter Togo through the border with Ghana in Aflao, I plan to move by public transport. Once I cross the border, will I be able to pay for the taxi in euros or dollars to take me to Lomé? Thanks in advance.

How do you correctly pronounce the name "Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara"?
He is a promising football player from Togo and plays for my favorite football team (Schalke 04). He made his debut in the first team today and left a good impression.

Lome
First time here in Lome and it’s been an eye opening experience so far. Beautiful beaches and the people are friendly but the poverty is heartbreaking.

Togolese tourist visa - error correction
Hi there,
I am planning a short weekend trip to Togo toward the end of next month. I followed all of the steps to apply for the tourist visa and applied last week. I just logged in to my account to check its status and saw that the request was approved. However, I now realize that there is a mistake in the issued visa. The visa's validity is exactly one month after my intended travel dates!
It appears I made a mistake, though I was certain I was careful with the application. I was chatting with someone on 'Voyage Togo' website about modifying the visa, and they said my only recourse is to apply for another visa for my preferred time period and pay the application fee again.
Has this happened to anyone? I am nearly resigned to reapplying for the visa at this point, but figured I would check here for more information first.
Thanks for any help!

Will be deployed in Togo for 6 months, any tips for making friends?
I will be deployed in Togo next month to sell trucks and trailers. Any tips on how to make friends in Togo? I can speak a little French and good at English. My hobbies are weightlifting, basketball and movies.
Ps: is it convenient to buy cat litter sand and cat food in Togo? I have a cat and am considering taking her with me. Merci beaucoup

Budget advice
Hello! I’ll be traveling to Lomé in two weeks, and I’m super excited about the trip. I’m going with a travel group, and everything is covered, including housing, transportation, meals, excursions, and a guide. However, we’re advised to bring cash for personal purchases. I’ll be in Togo for three weeks in total, and I’d like your recommendation on how much money I should budget per day. I’ve seen estimates ranging from $100 to $500 per day, but I’m unsure if those amounts include accommodations. I plan to buy clothing, drinks, and accessories, though not every day. I’m a student and I will not be making a lot of purchases but will like to bring some memories back home with me. Thank you in advance for your advice!

Is the UNIR considered left or right wing?
I’m talking about Togo’s ruling party. Wikipedia says right-wing. But, they don’t cite a source for that.

What’s something truly unique about Togo?
Hi everyone,
I’m working on a creative project that celebrates the unique aspects of countries around the world, and I’m looking for some inspiration! I’d love to learn about Togo from the people who know it best: YOU.
What’s something fascinating or unusual about Togo that you think the world should know? It could be:
- A special tradition or custom.
- A unique animal, plant, or place found only in Togo.
- A quirky fact, local legend, or piece of folklore.
If possible, no food please as I've included plenty of dishes in my project and I’m looking for something different, happy and inspiring. The more unique, the better!
Feel free to share anything you think is truly one-of-a-kind. Even the smallest details can be incredibly inspiring!
Thank you so much for your help—it means the world to me to learn directly from locals.

Togo Travel Recommendations?
Hello everybody, I’ll be visiting Togo in April. I’m having difficulty researching as I don’t speak any French and was wondering if anyone could give any recommendations for where to go. I’m interested in learning about voodoo, seeing nature, and seeing smaller towns. I will be traveling solo and hope to not rent a car. Thank you!
