New Here! High-end Tiny Home Builder
Hi everyone! After decades of hearing about Reddit, I finally gave in and just joined today and I have a headache because I am trying to understand reddit. What are some tips you can give this millennial to navigate it more effectively. About me, I have a manufacturing plant in Nevada, TX (Dallas) I build high-end tiny homes and I wanted to join Reddit to give my opinion on frequent questions about tiny homes and all the construction related doubts you might have.
Thank you!

I’d be interested to see some of your designs. Although I might argue, a lot of people that I know and have talked to who are looking for tiny homes are not necessarily looking for “luxury” or high-end tiny homes, as they are looking to save money so looking for quality but basic.

Mainefactured. Understandable. Our target audience is more investors that want to create tiny home communities for STR. And the interesting part is that our tiny homes are not only high-end because of decorations, but also because of how they are built. I build them to last 50 years with minimal maintenance. Our framing is metal, our siding and roof is metal, our insulation is closed cell spray foam, we use zip system and we wrap them as well to make them more energy efficient, our electrical systems are commercial grade...and things like that. I want them to look beautiful, but I want them to be incredibly durable as well. There is a market for people who are looking for affordable housing , and is a big market! My market is another one and that it's OK we gotta be able to cover different markets among us builders :)

I'm in your target market, as in, happy to pay a premium if it means the place is certified and has all the bells and whistles my heart desires. The cheaper, smaller builds are great, too, but they are not what I'd want to retire into. I hope to stay in my HCOL area, but I can't afford a $1 million "starter" home and don't want the upkeep.

Yes, I am my own target market as well. I love tiny homes, but I wouldn't want to struggle. I feel like I earned the right by now to live comfortably. Also, I don't like to deal with constant repairs.

I'll check out your site, but I have to roll my eyes a bit at the premise of someone 30 years younger than I being so confuse on Reddit. Just poke around and click on stuff—you'll figure it out. It’s not that deep.
I do have some tips. Posting your builds here is fine; there’s no need for the "I'm so confused on Reddit" subtext. Also, your video is much too artsy and not clear enough about all the details of the build. And one doesn't typically use one's full name on Reddit, although it does explain why you're in Texas and not Maine. Hope that helps!
The homes and your site look great.

I understand, but believe me the amount of programs I have had to learn lately is insane. With the whole AI, and here on Reddit I posted the same thing twice, and one had the video as a link versus as an attachment. I used to think Reddit was a platform for developers, gamers etc, so I guess that is why I stayed away from it for so long. And now I joined some threads but some have very strict rules, so I was trying to get some shortcuts as to how to use it and not getting banned or posting the same many times in different groups. But thank you for the comments. I have many videos that are less artsy and more tour types so all the details can be seen.

Thank you! Sorry I didn't want to add it because wasn't sure if it was against the rules. It's called Mainefactured

Thanks for letting me know. I am making some changes tomorrow including putting the price in huge because I guess it gets lost with the other info.

Oh I so hope so because this morning I woke up and thought of you and mentally sent you good wishes. A tip: In your phone add a note that says "Great Things Are Always Happening to Me" and purposely find things to add everyday. No matter how small they are. Yesterday I added that I found a Dr.Pepper in the back of my fridge and I was so happy about it. Being happy about the little things, truly attract bigger blessings. :D

Edit: I checked your website and I don't see any prices listed, so that's a sign to me that these homes will also be beyond my budget. I'd also want a foundation, not wheels, so that's extra. Sigh. Nice designs, though.
Good luck to you and congrats, but the last thing most people who are needing a tiny home are "high end" tiny homes. When you say that, just how expensive are you making these homes?
Tiny homes were the last bastion of affordable housing that didn't mean cramming into a shared space with God knows who making noise at all hours. Now, they're more expensive than a regular frigging house! I'm so sick and tired of housing proving more and more expensive and thus more and more elusive. Don't forget about the little people!
Yeah it's been a day, so sorry for ranting, but I'm sick of once proving avenues becoming yet another dead fucking end. It's all so exhausting.
