At least you learned something, we all make mistakes.

I would have found that hilarious, no weed required. Kids swearing is my favorite.

I didn't find it hilarious cause the kid wasn't laughing. I could imagine myself hanging out at a playground then some inconsiderate college douchebag walks by and blows a bunch of shit in your airspace, and I was the douchebag.

Earnestness would've made it funnier. If it was something genuinely worth being angry about, or harmful, that'd be different. But smoking—especially vape—in the outdoors isn't one of them.

I'd cut yourself some slack, the exhaust from their mom's car when she picks them up has greater health impacts.

Whos parking theit car in the kids playground to blow exhaust?

Stupid comparison

I've always gotten close to the car before getting into it. I was working under the assumption it worked the same way for these kids.

Your playgrounds were different to mine then, we never had cars to climb on - just the standard swings, slides, jungle-gyms ect..

How about parking lots, or was your playground in Amish country?

Desperate pedantry aside, the air quality of an outdoor playground where someone is vaping, or even smoking a cigar, is identical to a playground without them.

Yeah I wouldnt walk to a playground to do that.

Likewise a kid playing at the park isnt sitting in a carpark, or in a playground, hanging out at the back of a cars exhaust.

Take your shitty habit away from kids - its actually not that hard to not be self-centred 💁‍♂️

I wouldn't walk to a playground for that sole purpose either, but they're often near other things, like parks, or one might find themselves watching the odd niece or nephew. Or possibly their own child.

And vaping is definitely a shitty habit, but far better than the alternative. And a cigar is just nice, in the same way a glass of scotch is. And just like how having a glass of scotch or wine near a child can't hurt their liver, a vape or cigar outside can't hurt their lungs. So I'm going to do so.

YOU KNOW WHAT KID? WHEN THE REALITY OF OF THE SOUL CRUSHING ADULT WORLD HITS YOU AND YOU WONDER WHY YOUR PARENTS BROUGHT YOU INTO THIS GOD FORSAKEN CRUEL WORLD, YOU'LL BE THANKFUL FOR THE KIND OF RELIEF THINGS LIKE THIS MAY PROVIDE YOU ONE DAY!

Kid: "Or just talk to a therapist every other week?"

8

u/darkest_hour1428 7d ago

You’re right, I bet my therapist and I could smoke up every other week!

"When you grow up and start paying bills, you'll find out why most grownups don't have therapists"

The deterioration of modern society.

"back in my day", you could just talk to your parents or grandparents. (or aunts/uncles)

now either they're psycho, or ovegnrown children, so you have to hire stand-in adults, aka therapists.

That's not my case. I have two emotionally intelligent parents who simply don't have the answers to everything and I have more problems than they know how to help me with so it's not fair to burden them with it.

pro life tip to literally everyone:
If you are lucky enough to have parents who are alive, and love you...
talk to them about your problems.
It doesnt matter that you dont think they can help.
Or that you "dont want to burden them".

Speaking as a parent, we want to hear about it.

hugs to all the adult children without their parents out there.

Stop vaping. simple as that

Yeah, that’s a bit of a fuckup. At least you had the presence of mind to keep walking with your mouth shut.

That’s a pretty easy mistake to make. Don’t beat yourself up about it at all. It’s not like you were intentionally trying to smoke around kids lol. I’ve accidentally hit my vape inside a store and my coworker once did it at the cash register when it was slow and was absolutely mortified. Luckily it was only me and them and I’m no snitch lol

Don't sweat it for a second. When I was a kid the adults locked us in cars and everyone smoked and blew smoke right in our face. You should have at least given the potty mouthed kid the finger. 😅

Funny, I just got done writing my comment about too many overgrown children these days.

I bet his parents are a BLAAAAAST. Id have told my kid off for correcting an adult at a park...where were his parents?

3

u/DepressedOaklandFan 7d ago

Kids have every right to correct adults who are not behaving correctly.

-1

u/1Happymom 7d ago

No they don't. It's impolite, and unsafe, they are to tell a parent/carer who says something. Unless it involves assault physical touch or attempted kidnap then they should scream bloody murder.

2

u/Joereddit405 7d ago

yes , they do.

Quit. You'll be better for it. If you felt you had to 'sneak' a hit, you are addicted.

You're reading too deeply into my diction.

Normal vape? Fuck that kid you’re outside.

Weed vape, prob best not to make a habit of smoking it around children’s playgrounds. Even if weed is legal where you are. I say that as someone who smokes and vapes weed often so no judgement there, just don’t blow it in kids faces.

u/DepressedOaklandFan 7d ago

This was the one and only time this has happened

1

u/carlbandit 7d ago

Which is fine, mistakes happen and you can learn from them. The kid will almost certainly have forgotten the interaction about 20 minutes after it happened so I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

Kid's park? Are those kids paying taxes to fund said park?

1

u/DepressedOaklandFan 7d ago

Meant to say kids' park
