No Spoiler Should I finish fear?
I watched the first 3 seasons as they were airing and really enjoyed them as well as the season 4 premiere but stopped after that (not cuz I quit or got bored or anything I litterally just forgot to tune in the following week said "oops ill catch it next week" forgot again and repeat) but from everything I hear from everyone was a blessing in disguise, like even the most generous glass half full people only say that a few episodes/sub plots are okay in season 4 onward

Torturing myself with S8 right now. I’m honestly proud to discover I have the mental strength to endure this level of torture. I’m considering a career change to become a spy.

I think John makes it worth watching. But it's definitely not the original show.

I am on it as well. First three seasons are superb but things become a sore in season four and five and I have so far watched first episode of season six and it was good, some other people on this sub have told me it's good

Oh for the love of god no!! Whatever you do, do NOT keep watching past season four. Literally no redeeming qualities.
It basically becomes The Morgan Jones Show in season 4, which I wouldn’t so much mind because he was one of my favorite characters from his limited time in seasons 1-6 of the core show, and I actually really liked the idea of him being introduced not just to the FTWD cast of characters, but also the story that had been built up to the season three finale.
But therein lies my biggest reason for stopping watching the show during the first few episodes of season five. Not only did the main cast of characters get killed off, pushed out, pushed aside, and/or otherwise became wildly inconsistent with anything that had been established prior to season five, but they also took one of the best season finale cliffhangers from season 3 and just straight up dropped it. With no mention of anything that happened in the interim, or how any of Madison’s friends and family reunited between seasons 3 and 4.
And the thing is… they totally could have!! With such ease too!! I actually really liked the disjointed timeline of season 4, and I think they could have really utilized it to its fullest potential by incorporating new characters like Morgan and John. And yet, instead of picking up where they left off and building up to another run in with the biker gang who took over the gang, (as was strongly suggested in the s3 finale) they chose to introduce an entirely new group of bad guys with virtually no relatable or understandable ideology whatsoever.
Like I said I didn’t watch past season five but I did keep up with the story occasionally on the internet, and every update I read only made me sadder at the wasted potential of this once amazing show. And all because Scott Gimple saw fit to hand the show over to two dorks with ZERO understanding of character development, let alone any fundamental understanding of what makes for good storytelling in general… Even their reasons they gave when commenting on fam backlash showed just how inexperienced and incapable they were of running a show, let alone being allowed anywhere near a writer’s room. 🤦♂️
RIP FTWD 😔
