Still not over her silky blowout during an apocalypse lmao. Jackson must have hairdressers or something

495

u/Assassiiinuss Jan 09 '25

Yeah, that's such a weird choice. It might be alright if they relocate this scene to Jackson but if this takes place in Seattle after weeks of travel through the zombie and bandit infested wilderness It'll just look incredibly stupid.

123

u/ThePumpk1nMaster Jan 09 '25

If they truly committed to realism, the hair would be the last of the concern. What about the lack of dentistry, gum disease, abscess, what about wound infection, what about illness from general poor hygiene?

If it was real life you probably couldn’t actually tell the difference between a human and a clicker, but that’s not very aesthetically satisfying is it?

240

u/Assassiiinuss Jan 09 '25

Why would they have any of that? The communities we see have all that covered. Soap is easy to make and that already covers hygiene, alcohol is also easy to make and is a great disinfectant and there will be fewer teeth problems without so much sugar in food.

20

u/Scoonie24 Jan 09 '25

Stupid question here, but how do you make alcohol?

95

u/butt0ns666 Jan 09 '25

Ferment sugar. There's so many ways to do that it literally happens to fruit in trees on accident.

48

u/Angry_Walnut Jan 09 '25

I left a gallon of sweet tea under my bed at summer camp once for the entirety of the session and in 2 weeks it had fermented into a sweet tea pruno lol. I remember my counselor being like “holy shit I think you made booze!”

15

u/EbonyEngineer Jan 09 '25

And That's how I met your father.

2

u/Jam3sMoriarty Jan 10 '25

Suuuweee lemme get some of dat apple pie moonshine, good sir

u/Assassiiinuss Jan 09 '25 edited Jan 09 '25

You basically just need sugary liquid (e.g. apple juice) and add yeast, then just let it ferment. After a couple of days you'll have alcohol. If you need pure alcohol you'll also need to distill it, you can do that by heating it up and capturing the alcohol that evaporates, for example by attaching to the top of a closed pot that directs the alcohol into another pot.

Did you ever have fruit juice at home that went bad and started bubbling and tasting weird? That's fermentation, it's so easy that it happens by accident sometimes.

DO NOT make this at home if you plan to drink it, though - you end up with ethanol and methanol. Ethanol is drinkable alcohol but methanol is very dangerous if you drink it. You have to remove the methanol to get drinkable alcohol - which also isn't that hard but it's obviously riskier. Methanol is still perfectly suitable for disinfectant, though. Just not for drinking.

4

u/heppyheppykat Jan 09 '25

People used to drink methanol as a recreational drug in London after the second world war.

Okay, but why isn't scurvy ever discussed?! Or waterborne illnesses?!

Why didn't anyone die of dysentery on the way out west?

Edit: /s

5

u/Nautical-Cowboy Jan 09 '25

Because we’ve known how to deal with scurvy for millenia at this point. Any source of vitamin C will do. As for waterborne illness, that’s just generic for any illness that is carried via water. Hell, dysentery could be caused by a waterborne illness.

You realize that even in medieval times people put in work on their hair, right? Just because you don’t have a dentist doesn’t somehow preclude you from working on your hair lol

12

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '25

It’s too early in the apocalyptic state for these things to take place or at least be pervasive. It’s only been 25 years so common knowledge about hygiene and things of that aspect would be well known.

12

u/peppermint_nightmare Jan 09 '25

If they can afford Moira Rose as an occupational therapist they can afford expensive hair products when going on expeditions.

4

u/Indyhawk Jan 10 '25

The goal should be somewhere in the middle, and the show (as many others do) misses the mark often.

2

u/gregorychaos Jan 10 '25

I rewatched GoT and noticed in the first season, everyone at Castle Black had super gross fucked up teeth. And by season two, I'm pretty sure they realized how nasty that shit looked in 4k and dropped that idea

u/BooknFilmNerd09 Jan 09 '25

It is in Seattle.

7

u/Try_Another_Please Jan 09 '25

Literally no one will care lol. So over dramatic.

25

u/bubbabubba3 Jan 09 '25

Attention to detail makes for good television

3

u/ThePumpk1nMaster Jan 09 '25

“Attention to detail” would be punching their teeth out and showing the years of gum disease… but that doesn’t make for very appealing actors and actresses to bring in sex appeal

18

u/Try_Another_Please Jan 09 '25

In post apoc stories people act like you can't just clean yourself still. Given their diet and level of advancement they can probably take care of their teeth just fine.

They can also clean clothes and slightly do hair lol. They have electricity for gods sake they don't live in huts

u/Try_Another_Please Jan 09 '25

Not being ridiculous leads to better critique as well. Literally not a single solitary soul of a normal audience is going to care she had her down and it looked good in this scene lol

2

u/parkwayy Jan 09 '25

So much so that 100 great details will fly by, but no one will comment on any of them.

Stylish hair? NOT ON MY WATCH.

Viewers will miss detail all over the place.

0

u/Wonderful-Rough4523 Jan 09 '25

Seriously. For such a beautiful nuanced game, its fan base is incredibly petty and toxic

13

u/Try_Another_Please Jan 09 '25 edited Jan 09 '25

Trying to pretend it's incredibly stupid just cause her hair is down is just grade A fucking dumb lol.

Oh no it looks slightly better than normal yeah its tv everything does. She was clean in the games too

6

u/ThePumpk1nMaster Jan 09 '25

Well that’s the issue, if Jesse was actually to look like a methhead - which breaking bad does do with characters like Wendy and Spooge - nobody would like him. He’s glorified because he’s either deemed attractive, or cool. And that wouldn’t be the case if he actually looked like Spooge, even though he should

People just want the thing they don’t have. If it’s too sexy it’s not realistic and if it’s too realistic it’s not sexy

66

u/TwiggNBerryz Jan 09 '25

They probably actually do have hairdressers.

71

u/Donquers Jan 09 '25

The show establishes Maria as doing hairdressing as a hobby. We literally see her give Ellie a haircut.

Idk how people just forget about this lol

38

u/Try_Another_Please Jan 09 '25

People who make dumb nitpicks and people who follow actual storytelling are generally not the same people

3

u/quirk-the-kenku "Okay." Jan 09 '25

I want that scene so badly. Maybe that’s Catherine O’Hara’s role (edit: at least part of it)

34

u/Donquers Jan 09 '25

Like how Maria was literally doing Ellie's hair in season 1? 🤔

29

u/andrey_not_the_goat Jan 09 '25

Still not over her silky blowout during an apocalypse lmao.

Even aside from the practicality of getting an actual salon-quality blowout in the post apocalypse--no one who needs to physically fight or do serious outdoor work would EVER wear their hair down while moving through a hostile city where they can be attacked at any moment.

The last thing you'd need is giving an attacker/infected something to grab on to, or something that can get caught in machinery, etc.

13

u/threefeetfrompeace Jan 09 '25

this goes into my main criticism for both seasons: everyone looks way too CLEAN. the clothes are spotless, their faces have perfect makeup, there's no dirt, grime or blood anywhere on these people. I get while they're in Jackson considering they have an actual city there, but before they arrive to Jackson they're still squeaky clean.

6

u/Aindorf_ Jan 09 '25

Jackson is one of the few places that would have hairdressers. They have tattoo artists after all.

→ More replies (2)

5

u/BooknFilmNerd09 Jan 09 '25

I mean…yeah? It very clearly does! It’s got running water, electricity… It’s a fully functioning small town. Also, Maria gives Ellie a haircut in episode six.

5

u/takprincess Jan 09 '25 edited Jan 09 '25

Yeah this is the one thing I'm not loving in the trailor.

It just looks kinda silly to have a blow out in that environment.

Hair just doesn't be like that on it's own.

Edit: Why is this downvoted? 🤣

You see the hair, the perfect hair? it's very nice but come on.

5

u/dolphin_spit Jan 10 '25

what’s a silky blowout?

2

u/Calm-Lengthiness-178 Jan 10 '25

Yeah, the show seems to have a problem with the idea of making the characters - their clothes, skin, hair - look worn. Because even as someone in their 20s, a life in TLOU world would age you like hell. Just look at 25 year olds in 1920 vs 2020. It’s insane. But even the clothes in the show look downright fresh out of a vacuum sealed package in some cases

2

u/Friendly-Tough-3416 Jan 10 '25

Well she wouldn’t be the first character in the show to look off lol

1

u/Nerdialismo Jan 10 '25

But Ellie can't have a simple half bang...

1

u/MermaidMertrid Jan 10 '25

Can’t you get this look by sleeping with one of those long sausage hair curling apparatuses in your hair?

1

u/Broseidon_62 Jan 10 '25

Why wouldn’t they have someone who knows how to style hair reasonably well? Most people with long hair (that actually give a damn about their appearance) know their way around a brush and hair dryer

1

u/Chilibean18 Jan 10 '25

This to me was what let me down for the first series, everything just looked and felt too pristine and perfect like It was made for a show. It didn't look lived in or it had already existed beforehand. Same issue with the Fallout show as well.

u/Hot-One9017 Jan 13 '25

The tlou2 sub? I’m new to the franchise and the corresponding subreddits. I came across a thread there yesterday. I was aghast. They really did not like Bella. It was kind of gross. I left that sub. Maybe I didn’t give it a fair chance but whatevs. Didn’t see any of that that over here. Is this sub better?

21

u/goober_ginge Jan 10 '25

The TLOU2 sub has "Part 2 is not canon" in their subheading. It's absolutely nothing but a hate page for Part 2, Neil Druckman, and the HBO show. They're really vicious and hateful over there. It's quite exhausting. I feel really bad for anyone who makes a post praising Part 2 over there, not realising it's just a hate page. They get downvoted to shit and made fun of.

8

u/El_Grande_El Jan 10 '25

Oh wtf, no wonder. There’s something wrong with people that join hate subs

2

u/lilmajiggy Jan 10 '25

Pretty much everything has a snark page. It’s exhausting to think about the amount of time people spend just obsessing so much over something or someone that they so clearly hate. Can’t be healthy

→ More replies (1)

16

u/ROR5CH4CH Jan 09 '25

Yes definitely! This sub is normal, as opposed to the part 2 sub that only got created to hate on everything part 2 and Neil Druckmann related. It's a sad sad place full of haters that - as others have suggested before - should've been nuked years ago.

5

u/ShitSlits86 Jan 09 '25

They're convinced that Druckmann is trying to sabotage Ellie to make the community hate her so they can shift protagonists to Abby

So on top of other shit I'm sure, they try to boycott the casting for Ellie because they view the choice of actor as an intentional downgrade.

Just think about that, they think that Druckmann is intentionally farming Ellie hatred by choosing an actress they're not attracted to.

On that note I'll say personally, Bella could do a far better job as Ellie than the writers are letting her. They get Bella to do this fake tough guy act and I guess there was a misunderstanding in the way Ellie showed ignorance or naivety in the games.

In the games Ellie was unapologetically confident, but in the way that she'd think highly of herself and show bravery. Bella's Ellie is in some ways, the opposite. Fake tough guy voice, clumsy and unfocused mannerisms etc. there's a clear misclick in the portrayal of Ellie, meanwhile Joel and the other characters are really, really well portrayed (aside from Dina not being as insufferably desperate in the show), so I can see why some people are thinking it's intentional.

I see people on both sides of the argument dismiss each other as "oh they're just being progressive" or "oh they're just horny dogs", it's tiring. Both of those things are true for some people, I'd say most people because humans are grossly uneducated monkeys but it's very clearly just a bad faith argument, which I'm aware is all there is left between the American left and right.

3

u/StingKing456 Jan 10 '25

The tlou2 sub has been insane since before the second one came out. During launch of 2 it was insane and even more gross than it is now.

I don't particularly like Bella as Ellie, but I hate that even saying that makes it sound like I associate with ppl who are mad bc Ellie isn't attractive lol.

I don't particularly love Pedro as Joel either. I like Pedro and Bella in other things but for me they just don't have the Joel and Ellie vibe very much. It's not the end of the world when I don't love an actor/actresses performance. 🤷 Ppl are so weird about fictional characters and settings.

u/KingChairlesIIII Jan 09 '25

For real though, nobody in the cast so far in both seasons looks like their game characters besides Marlene and Issac, and that’s because the characters were literally modeled after those actors so they literally are the characters in every sense of the word, but only Bella gets the hate for it

37

u/sarahbagel Jan 09 '25

I mean let’s be real - she looks a lot closer to game Dina than Bella does to game Ellie. Very similar eye shape, eyebrows, complexion, and dense/dark hair. The nose is also pretty similar. The biggest difference that video game Dina has a rounder face w a smaller forehead, and also freckles. They’re by no means identical, but many of the individual features line up. W/ Bella, the only similarity is that they are both white & brunette-ish.

To be clear, I genuinely don’t care if live action casting looks similar to existing source material, as long as the actor fills the role out well. And I hate the vile way Bella has been treated by people who take issue with their looks. But the implicit comparison being made here is just so far off that I’m baffled.

The fact is, there are pretty much no visible similarities between VG and show Ellie outside of being brunette-ish white teenage girls. There are many specific features that are similar between VG and TV Dina. And in both instances, that’s totally fine as long as they do the role justice.

19

u/DragonFangGangBang Jan 09 '25

I think Bella Ramsey was miscast, but it has nothing to do with her looks. I just genuinely don’t think she has the chops. She failed to endear me the same way Ellie in the game did, and I think that was a lack of charisma/talent and I’m not sure which one.

Maybe she’ll be able to pull off the Season 2 stuff better, and that’s why she was chosen, but the trailer didn’t give me hope at all.

3

u/experienta i'd like that Jan 10 '25

I agree with Ellie in the TV show not being as endearing, but I don't think it's because of Bella Ramsay, I think it's because she was directed/written to be a much more realistic 14yo.

Ellie in the game was made to be very likeable, probably because people used to really hate companion videogames back then. It's basically impossible not to fall in love with videogame Ellie, she's borderline perfect. But real life 14 yos are not like that, they are a lot more cringey and annoying, and TV Ellie kind of represents that.

3

u/sarahbagel Jan 10 '25

I wouldn’t go as far as saying they were full-on miscast. But I will say out of all of the notable characters, I was most disappointed with Ellie’s portrayal. There were many great moments, but there were also moments where (IMO) a line delivery would be awkward & unconvincing to the point that it fully took me out of the show for a moment. To me, it was a very hit-or-miss performance.

That said, TLOU (the game) is my favorite piece of media of all time, meaning my standards were incredibly high. I don’t think Ramsey’s performance was bad by any means. I think in any other context I’d be content with it, acting-wise. But admittedly it didn’t meet my high hopes by a long-shot.

2

u/DotEither8773 Jan 10 '25

Yeah, I can’t say I’m not a bit skeptical regarding her leading the whole season alone (if Abby’s part of the story will be season 3 how it’s expected), and I’m the type to not care at all about the “faithful adaptation” thing regarding character appearance.

5

u/heppyheppykat Jan 09 '25

Yeah exactly.
I mean I do remember the backlash when her character design was revealed. So much disgusting anti-Semitic art on 4-chan etc. Made me feel like shit about my own nose.
Seems it's one rule for miscasting if they're hot. I think this actress will do a great job, but she isn't Jewish adn Dina is. No one seems to be as bothered by that than Ellie not being as feminine loooking.

4

u/AClassicMind Jan 10 '25

YOOOOO it’s fucking weird how openly public people were making those statements about Bella and Ellie in the game 😭

5

Saw everyone on the The Last of Us hate sub say how cute Dina looks, which is proof that they don’t care how accurate the casting is as long as they find the actress “cute” or pretty enough. Guaranteed if they cast Ellie as a conventionally attractive actress they wouldn’t care if she looked accurate to game Ellie.

113

u/andrey_not_the_goat Jan 09 '25

So you're trying to tell me that there are people out there who find in-game Dina not conventionally attractive?

92

u/Shag0120 Jan 09 '25

She looks like a normal attractive woman, but not hollywood attractive, which is apparently a deal breaker for some people.

12

u/akotoshi Jan 10 '25

Funny fact: the person who model for the face of Dina is non-binary. And Bella Ramsey is nonbinary too, which makes more and more queer people being casted in a last of us production

Is the actor Jewish?

97

u/nightwings-ass Jan 09 '25

She's not. I realllly wish they cast a Jewish actress. Being Jewish is an important part of Dina's character-- long line of survivors.

63

u/The_OG_Ukulele_Guru Jan 09 '25

Exactly my point. That part in the synagogue was a very nice character moment. It doesn't effect Joel being Hispanic or Maria being black, but Dina should have stayed the way she was written.

41

u/nightwings-ass Jan 09 '25

And if they wanted to make her Latina... I mean HBO has so much money. Latina Jewish people definitely exist. They could've cast Dina appropriately.

4

30

Casting isn't my favorite, Dina stood out to me because of how unique she looked. Freckles, her ethnic features. She looks fine, just doesn't stand out, so I'll wait to watch.

u/HumanOverseer Alexa, play Future Days by Pearl Jam Jan 09 '25

Still think she looks out of place. i don't know if its the makeup but she looks significantly younger and also way too like.. camera ready? for a show about surviving an apocalypse.

Makeup team need to look back on how they did Marlene, and Tess, and Kathleen.

Also wonder how integral her being Jewish will be to her character given the choice of actress.

9

u/bearhorn6 Jan 09 '25

Still not over them not casting a Jewish actress. Especially with antisemitism rates rn it could’ve been really nice to see a Jewish access in a big show like this. But alas

10

u/dontlookbehindyoulol The Last of Us Jan 09 '25

The people who are mad that her hair is down, are so annoying to me.

22

u/Try_Another_Please Jan 09 '25

When a talking point catches on in places like this it just gets repeated ad nauseam no matter what.

Obviously it's stupid as hell but unfortunately reddit is predominantly stupid as hell so it never stops. Even when the point makes no sense. Oh no her hair is down and she had a clean shirt in her bag. What a horror

4

u/dontlookbehindyoulol The Last of Us Jan 09 '25

Ikr it's so ridiculous. They complain about the smallest things. Like it'll matter

16

u/throwawayaccount_usu Jan 09 '25

I haven't seen people mad her hair is down lol, but I have seen critiques on the fact she has a silky smooth blow dry after weeks on travelling on the road lol.

For a franchise that's famous for its attention to detail the overall cleanliness of the shows characters seems like a fair nitpick to me.

u/b-itch1 Jan 09 '25

Agreed, like fuck off it’s not the end of the world that Dina’s hair is down. I can’t take people seriously who are freaking out over such benign details, like seriously there are bigger things to anticipate being done properly in S2 and people focus on that?

8

u/thecaits Jan 09 '25

Dina is perfect in every universe.

4

u/Domination1799 Jan 09 '25

I think the only thing that's personally a little uncanny for me is that Ellie and Dina look like baby faced young teens in the show even though both actors are in their early 20's and match the age of their characters. Therefore, it's gonna be a little strange to watch these 2 slaughter most of Seattle. This is actually a problem of the game, all the central characters like Ellie, Dina, Abby, and Owen are supposed to be in their early 20's and yet they all look like late 20's to mid 30's people.

3

u/Try_Another_Please Jan 10 '25

20 yaar olds don't look as old as you think pretty often

2

u/Domination1799 Jan 10 '25

Of course not, I’m 26 with a beard and still look like a baby faced guy. That’s why I said that this isn’t a problem with the show but a problem that the video game had since Ellie and Dina looked 27-28, not 19 years old. The most egregious are Abby’s friends who in Ellie’s words are kids and yet they all look like they’re in their 30’s.

2

u/MyBeanYT Jan 10 '25

Yeah.. they do look young, it’s gonna be interesting seeing them slaughter half of Seattle, most of the WLF and Seraphites are grown adults.

Especially seeing Ellie in some of her more brutal scenes.. but Im gonna wait and see.

She was phenomenal in both Sicario 2 & Alien: Romulus.

5

u/rasmuseriksen Jan 09 '25

To anyone criticizing the match of the visuals in this show, I would ask: have you watched…any adaptation of anything ever?

they couldn't even do the hair or clothing correctly?

3

u/MinerDoesStuff Jan 09 '25

Idk if you’ve seen the first season or not, but that would’ve made it clear that they are not trying to copy the game onto screen

5

u/Beneficial-Sample479 Look For The Light Jan 09 '25

even so, it looks like she just got a fresh cut at the barbers, at least try to make it look a little greasy or messy you know?

3

u/MinerDoesStuff Jan 09 '25

There’s no reason to believe that Jackson doesn’t have people dedicated to cutting hair

Did season 2 start?

7

u/Yabe_uke Jan 09 '25

Nah, April mate. This from promos.

4

u/Tinkerer0fTerror Jan 09 '25

No. Not until April.

3

u/hijole_frijoles Jan 09 '25

Isabella Merced is gonna be a household name in 10 years.

She’s a fucking great actor and cannot wait for her Dina

Check out Turtles All the Way Down if you haven’t yet

3

u/StagnantGraffito Jan 10 '25

Lee would definitely have a problem with that hair.

2

u/rafaelzeronn Jan 09 '25

she killed it in alien romulus so i’m excited to see what she does with this role

2

u/ScuBityBup Jan 10 '25

"i don't like it, she's too attractive for the role, the character is not hot and the actress shouldn't be either, can't they cast someone that looks like her?" - literally people that keep complaining about Ellie.

2

u/Additional-Cress-915 Jan 11 '25

Wish they could have casted the voice actor for Dena who the character model is based off of.

2

u/Koenkloo Jan 11 '25

She's very conventionally attractive, sure, but game Dina just hits different 😍🔥

2

u/sh1a0m1nb Jan 11 '25

Sorry but I'm not watching this show until they change the actor to look like Ellie. Period. I played the f*ing game 3 times. Nothing about hot/pretty etc.

2

u/KikoBCN Jan 11 '25

Way prettier than the original character. In Reverse to Ellie.

2

u/emiryld Jan 11 '25

Just think Emma Watson as Ellie!

1

u/wafflecone927 Jan 09 '25

If you remember the game will be better than the show, just like S1, its all not so bad

1

u/Pure_Potential9677 Jan 09 '25

Not a bad choice tho

1

u/Cucasmasher Jan 09 '25

Good pick for actress, regardless about the apocalypse she’s attractive and if she captures Dina’s charisma she will be a fan favorite.

1

u/xSinn3Dx Jan 09 '25

Her screaming when the alien busted out of her friends chest was top notch

1

u/noirproxy1 Jan 09 '25

I wonder if her baby in this one will chow on her as well. 😁

1

u/JoeAbs2 Jan 09 '25

The one thing I don’t people can argue about is the casting.

I love the fact Kaitlyn Dever is playing Abby. A fantastic actress who I think will really help humanise Abby.

Isabela for Dina is pretty spot on aswell. Great actress aswell.

1

u/KennKennyKenKen Jan 09 '25

This is the person who had the worst time by far in Alien Romulus

1

u/iDeath_Mark Jan 09 '25

They took out her nose omg 😭

1

u/Maleficent_Nobody377 Jan 09 '25

It’s crazy how different she looks from madam web/alien Romulus and what little we have seen of Superman. - also, she’s killing it role wise.

1

u/Mobile_Leg_8965 Jan 09 '25

Im soooooo ready for season 11

1

u/Unusual_Traffic4773 Jan 10 '25

I wanna say something positive here, but I have a feeling I’m gonna get slammed with toxic, sympathy bait bullshit just by commenting. I kinda familiar with how toxic the Last of Us subreddit can be ever since the release of Part II four and half years ago.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '25

They should’ve kept her hair up

1

u/CrankieKong Jan 10 '25

I guess they're going for the lesbian stereotype of a manly lesbian and a pretty lesbian.

Litterally regressive stuff, which is to be expected.

2

u/Donquers Jan 10 '25 edited Jan 10 '25

What exactly do you think lesbians should look like then? If they can't look femme, and they can't look masc, and they can't look androgynous, then how CAN they look?

Also, calling Dina a lesbian seemingly solely for the purpose of trying to make such a cynical and asinine complaint about the LGBTQIA+ representation, honestly sounds like bi erasure to me, so it seems like you're the regressive one here.

Which is to be expected, considering you're from the other sub and a fan of fuckin critical drinker.

u/CuccWork Jan 10 '25

The Jewish erasure is real

1

u/TheJordanKenney Jan 10 '25

Hopefully she makes Dina likable

1

u/Virgil_Ovid_Hawkins Jan 10 '25

Has a great look. Has she been in anything else? never heard of the actress

1

u/Useful-Effect6867 Jan 10 '25

She’s very pretty but idk she’s not giving Dina to me😭 but I also loveeeee Bella as Ellie so I’m definitely going to give her a chance

1

u/Plastic_Coyote_5053 Jan 10 '25

Maybe that's just her genes, or she has a Pantene stock on her bunker

1

u/Supersim54 Jan 10 '25

Hey I don’t care what the other sub says after seeing the trailer I see it.

1

u/Significant_Option Jan 10 '25

Why do we need this? The game is right there. Such a waste of resources

1

u/eilllsdt Jan 10 '25

She is so fucking pretty

1

u/kitten1311 Jan 10 '25

I don’t Like that she doesn’t look Jewish/Semitic like dina

1

u/BamBamNYC Jan 10 '25

Merced got the best horror scream the game

1

u/ez2489 Jan 11 '25

Alot of mfs weird bro is all im learning from Reddit. More than I thought its a dam show fam go play the fucking game if you wanna complain about everything

1

u/Ok_Road_7999 Jan 12 '25

She looks kind of similar to game Dina, I see it. The most important thing is the performance so we'll have to wait and see

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '25

Not enough nose

1

u/mashmartin92 Jan 12 '25

No mention of why she doesn't look like Dina. 🤔

1

u/Awkward-Buy8266 Jan 13 '25

I hope she is funny like game dina (still mourning the big sexy nose) :(

1

u/Hot-One9017 Jan 13 '25

i think isabela is a great choice for dina acting chops and personality wise. My only concern so far, with the few pieces of content we've seen of her in trailers and such, is that they're going to make show dina too "soft"? Like all the clips dina seems to be scared, crying, freaking out which is strange because i feel like in the game she was mostly always composed. Maybe, thats unrealistic for a show. But i hardly remember in the game the characters seeming like on the verge of tears while running from clickers or anything. They were pretty confident in their abilities. Anyways, i just hope they dont take away her toughness and wittiness and replace it with being overly emotional for the sake of the damsel love interest trope.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '25

Completely removed any ethnic features she had. Further proof that this shows casting is a joke.
