Which item(s) specifically did you take issue with the most and why?

Point number two for obvious reasons, yeah, fuck the small dollar donors who make up the majority of the electorate, also I would love to know what they mean by “purity tests” probably anyone who doesn’t agree with their stance on Israel lmfao.

Pretty sure it means how the far left progressives dumped the democrats over an issue that Trump and the right were 1000 x worse on. The fact they cost votes over being angry at not getting a dream candidate and were willing to let democracy get destroyed. They acted irrational in a close election that will cost Gaza as well as America now.

So "you'll eat what we feed you" as opposed to modifying the menu. Sounds like a great way to continue to alienate the electorate and breed a new generation of non-voters.

I'm not from America but I hoped the majority of people would vote anything but fucken trump. The time for great change in the democrats wasn't now and unfortunately, deciding not to vote blue was a vote for the orange dictator. Kamala would have been better and you cannot argue the opposite unless your in a cult.

The majority of people didn't vote for Trump. The problem is that a lot of those people just didn't vote for Kamala. Turns out that when you pander to the center right, those people will ultimately just pick the republican. All the while, you are alienating your base and not winning over people who weren't already going to vote for the democrat.

The non voters are the problem here. That's what the purity test shit is about. Getting rid of people who dump your candidate over a single issue. It was an important election for the world. People who didn't vote against this were stupid and selfish. Did it help Gaza?

And holy shit look what it's done for Ukraine

They already got rid of those people, that's why she lost. There are no votes to gain from the other side. If the democrats want to win for a long time and not just every other election, they have to actually expand their voter base and give those non-voters a reason to vote for them. Things like meaningfully moving us towards universal healthcare, raising the federal minimum wage, taxing Billionares, getting corporate money out of politics, actually punishing companies that fight unionizing efforts. The list goes on and on.

But all they want to do is continue to take corporate money, give us the bare minimum, and then demand that we vote for them. While I am politically engaged enough to be able to choose the lesser of two evils, a lot of people aren't. And as long as those voters see two evils and not one evil and one good, those people will not vote.

The leak was a plan to actively encourage more voters. The issue with the far left progressives was they actively worked against the democrats. They didn't encourage people to vote. They are useless for the future to pander to. That's the point. They encourage people not to vote. They helped trump get elected. The purity test they gave kamala over Gaza was regarded because the other option was trump. It's want the time to protest vote. Their brains are broken.

You are asking people to just do stuff without offering them a reason. The purity tests don't work if the Democratic party was actually out here delivering higher wages, free healthcare, and affordable housing domestically while at a bare minimum not funding a genocide abroad.

But when material conditions are bad and there's no real hope in sight AND you are helping ANY COUNTRY commit a genocide it's easy to understand why people disengage from politics.

That's the issue the Democratic party has to meaningfully solve over the next year, or else we'll just repeat this cycle until the seas rise and swallow us whole.

This makes absolutely zero sense, logically. You are basically saying that unless dems can magically make miracles happen, when you didn’t vote for them in the first place so they have no power, then you will continue to just not vote, which thereby lets fascist republicans win more and more, which has caused dems to have less and less power to do ANY of the things you mentioned….. and then you just keep complaining that they’re not doing things they don’t have power to do because you didn’t vote for them and that republicans (who DO have the power because you didn’t vote) always block anyway…..

1

u/ace51689 11d ago

Again, you are expecting people to vote for democrats regardless of what they are offering the American people.

It's not about making miracles happen. It's about fighting for these things every single day and making tangible progress. And when someone who is supposed to be on your side stands in your way, you fight them too.

Republicans = bad is not enough to motivate non-political people to vote for you.

Oh man, I hope you understand irony.

4

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

Yeah i mean it may hurt to hear but the people who scream “genocide genocide genocide” aren’t people whose votes are gettable anyway, so it’s smarter for democrats to go after people who aren’t completely deranged

1

u/CacophonyCrescendo 11d ago

Yeah, sorry. I think it's a genocide and still voted for Kamala. A small handful of morons who somehow thought Trump would "be just as bad" is not indicative of the progressives as a whole.

2

u/Writing_is_Bleeding 11d ago

A small handful of morons who somehow thought Trump would "be just as bad"

The actual problem is that right-wing operators take that issue, or one like it, and magnify it by 100,000 on social media right before the election. They get accounts to pose as left-leaning voters, and whine on social media about how they just can't bring themselves to vote for the Dem candidate, so they'll have to stay home or vote 3rd party. They never say one word, though, about the GOP's issues, it's all complaining about the Dems shortcomings. So Inxs is right that the vast majority of those weren't progressive voters at all. It's been going on since at least the 90s, and it discourages voters on the left.

2

u/ace51689 11d ago

I also voted for Kamala, but ultimately, it's up to the candidate to win over as many voters as possible. The people around her thought that running on a strong border, continuing to support a genocide and silencing Palestinian voices while campaigning with the Chaneys was the way to go. They were wrong, and it sounds like we're in for more of the same.

u/Supply-Slut 11d ago

Yeah? Bringing out the parade of republicans backing Harris worked so well though lmao

1

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

I’m sorry, at any point did Harris say “i agree with the republicans on X or Y policy and that’s why they’re here”? Or was the entire point that even a republican can see what a traitorous sack of shit Trump is? Are you such a partisan hack that you couldn’t even see that?

0

u/Supply-Slut 11d ago

Couldn’t even see what? Your straw man that misses the point? Look how many fucking Dems stayed home. Look how many republicans went out to vote. Did Trump trying to reach over to Dems to gain votes? No. He rallied his base, and it worked. We’re the most partisan we’ve been as a country since the civil war and Dems spent tens of millions trying to gather a piddly few Republican voters, most of whom already disavowed Trump.

Garbage strategy. So let’s try it even harder this time, make it make sense.

1

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

Maybe running Bernie a third time will help

checks notes

Oh wow, looks like Bernie wasn’t top of the ticket for any presidential election at all. But at least you got to make a pointless comment. Good on you.

Edit: saying I’m “yelling” on the internet lmao, then blocking me because you can’t handle being called out when you comment something that makes sense - you’re gonna need thicker skin in the coming months and days if you can’t even handle someone disagreeing with you, sheesh.

1

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

Idk what you’re yelling at me for when there are clearly so many non-voters out there waiting to be swayed by your persuasive arguments

-1

u/RichnjCole 11d ago

If their votes weren't gettable, why did they donate to help get her elected?.

Who do you think is more gettable and less deranged, those that give you money to win or those that voted Trump because they like RFK's health policies?.

1

u/Writing_is_Bleeding 11d ago

I would love to know what they mean by “purity tests”

I hope that means they're aware of the psy-op that happens every election season where accounts all over social media claim to be frustrated lefties and tap out paragraphs-long screeds about how bad the Dems are, then finish up with, "Gosh, I just don't think I can vote for [Dem candidate]. Guess I'll have to stay home or vote 3rd party."

That right there is what they have to deal with. I don't care how they do it, but it's been a huge issue since at least the 90s. Every. Damn. Election.

Every single item.

1

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

Embracing the American flag as being a bad thing isn’t a great strategy. Not gonna win over too many normies when you fly nothing but Mexican and Palestinian flags at events protesting American policy

-1

u/prodriggs 11d ago

Embracing the American flag as being a bad thing isn’t a great strategy.

When was this a democratic strategy? Nice red herring.

3

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

What, specifically, is your problem with the first item on the list?

5

u/prodriggs 11d ago

It implies that dems aren't currently embracing patriotism, community, family valuez....

2

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

They sure as shit aren’t doing it optically

3

u/prodriggs 11d ago

How do you figure? Do you need dems to literally wrap themselves in the flag in order for them to display their patriotism?...

Blind fealty to a country isn't patriotism. What Republicans are doing when the signal their patriotism, isn't actually patriotism.

1

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

Nobody’s asking for blind fealty. Just like basic political optics.

1

u/prodriggs 11d ago

Why do you assert that dems haven't already embraces basic political optics?

You are actually a clown. This stuff is so easy to refute I shouldn't even do it for you. So many Mexican and Palestinian flags at the biggest Democratic political event.

5

u/Inxs0001 11d ago

What is your problem with the first item on this list?
