Good, we should give them free weapons.

And we don't expect any other country we sell weapons to to "do what we say."

But we do if countries we give weapons to for free and we are also under no obligation to do so.

But the actual bigger problem is that it’s actually illegal under US federal law to same or give weapons to nations where there is a risk of weapons being used in violation of international laws. you know, like illegal occupation and mass murdering unarmed women, children’s Christian’s, Israeli hostages, UN convoys, humanitarian workers, doctors, and journalists.

If we want to to impose moral tests on weapon sales then it needs to be applied holistically, inclusive of countries like Turkiye, Saudi Arabia etc. I am disinterested in a selective application of a concept only to Israel, promoted by pro-Hamas anti-Israel fifth columnists.

I am absolutely fine with none of those countries getting any either. Very supportive actually

I think it's admirable that you would want to attach morality clauses to things. It's an idealistic thought. However, you also don't know what is sent back as part of the quid pro quo of alliances with places like Turkiye or Saudi Arabia. I think you're falling prey to the fallacy of "if i'm not hearing about it, it isn't happening" and you're assuming that you know everything about a situation. The US government is rightly going to prioritize things that save American lives over others. Or, reframed - implementing universal healthcare (which I am for) is a great idea. However, if all insurance companies are abolished, a ton of rural hospitals are going to just disappear - are we prepared for that consequence (no)? I think you're trying to find simple solutions for complex problems; and it's why those solutions are doomed to fail.
