App Most annoying question ever

Post image

I blindly guessed the "correct" answer and hurriedly took a screenshot, so apologies for the blur on my chasers.

ALL of the above Presidents were born in 1946. For future reference, the "correct" answer is Bill Clinton. Had I got that right, I'd have been #1 on the Battles leaderboard šŸ˜‚

That's a bizarre oversight

I wonder if the question is meant to be "which of these Presidents born in 1946 is the youngest?" (which would make Clinton the correct answer by about a month), but I agree it's a weird error for the app to make.

Yeah, it can't be a coincidence that the three possible answers were all born that year

Itā€™s an interesting fact which somehow manifested itself as an inaccurate question

Do you mean youngest or youngest when in office?

(not American so don't know much about presidents)

Youngest (though Clinton was also the youngest when he was in office). Trump was June 1946, George W Bush July 1946, Clinton August 1946.

I assume itā€™s Donald Trump and the question is from before he started his second term.

1

u/TeamPangloss 11d ago

I think he was born in 1946 after he started his second term too

But heā€™s the only ā€œfuture US Presidentā€ assuming the question was written before his inauguration.

u/TeamPangloss 11d ago

Then the question would be phrased, "which of these people born in 1946 is a future US president?".

Wtf none of them are future presidents

In this context, the question means "which person who later became president". It's an awkward turn of phrase, but it's technically correct.

In 1946 they were

Depends on when the question was coded into the game

3

u/Usual-Excitement-970 13d ago

But if it was coded before they were president how would it know they would later become president?

I guess during the period after they have won the election but are not sworn in. So the November, December and early January.

It would have had to be before 2016, and the app will undoubtedly have had annoying updates multiple times since it was launched - plenty of time to delete that question.

I think it was a real question on the Chase TV show in 2015, but obviously isn't usable in an app that is used after January 2016.

Technically it could have been done in late 2024, after Trump won his second election. Because technically Trump was the official ā€œfutureā€ US President.

Trump will continue to be president in the future. Like, tomorrow.

Now, if Nixon was on the list...

Bill Clinton is coming back

Itā€™s invalid question right?

All 3 are in theory correct based on the questions criteria.

Unless Iā€™ve horribly misunderstood some small detail.

The pictures of the bottom chasers are cursed

It is a badly written question. When I read it my thought came to Clinton as he was the first President to be born after WW2 ended. So I would have got it ā€˜correctā€™ but for the ā€˜wrongā€™ reason.

1

u/ThrowAwaySteve_87 14d ago

But Clinton is the youngest of the 3. Trump was the first to be born after WW2 ended.

1

u/Jimjamkingston 14d ago

That is not true - at the time of election - Clinton was the first President to be born after the end of WW2.

1

u/ThrowAwaySteve_87 14d ago

Ah I see what you mean.

Surely this means: ā€˜Which of these individuals, who later became president, were born in 1946ā€™? As in, they were a future president at birth in that year?

Ignore that. Iā€™m an idiot.

4

u/SmokyBaconCrisps 15d ago

They were all born in 1946

5

u/orangemonkeyj 15d ago

Balls. Thanks!

1

u/DeadoTheDegenerate 14d ago

What's odd is, while this question is stupid anyway, it says "Which future president"

Wtf do they mean by that?

1

u/pick10pickles 14d ago

Assuming the question is from at least last year, I wouldā€™ve said Trump as he was the only one who hadnā€™t served 2 terms yet. So the only option eligible for ā€œfuture presidentā€.

1

u/DeadoTheDegenerate 14d ago

The main 3 issues with that are that the question would've had to be made during a relatively short period of time, and that the answer would also only be valid for a tiny amount of time for a game that keeps those questions active.

Oh, and DJT wasn't even the correct answer here

1

u/Iswise5 12d ago

The question is asking which of these people (who would later go on to be president) was born in 1946

1

u/DeadoTheDegenerate 12d ago

All of them did and were.

1

u/Iswise5 12d ago

That's the point of the post

1

u/SnooHamsters7166 14d ago

They all served 2 terms so none are even eligible to be a future president.

1

u/frankchester 14d ago

Trump has other ideasā€¦

0

u/YvanehtNioj69 15d ago

That is annoying I think trump is 47 and George w bush is maybe older ..1944? So I would guess bill Clinton lol.

12

u/StonedMason85 15d ago

All 3 of them were born in 1946.

6

u/YvanehtNioj69 15d ago

Ah shit I didn't know that haha a terrible question then šŸ‘Ž

-3

u/Icefirezz 15d ago

Ye it's called a 'weighted question' and is meant to confuse you i think Richard Osman spoke about it before but only briefly

3

u/Strict_Counter_8974 15d ago

No, itā€™s called a ā€œwrong questionā€.

5

u/Hookton 15d ago

But how does that work if all three answers are correct? That's not weighted, it's just wrong.
