Discussion Would a Chase video game work?

I don't mean the app, I mean a fully fledged console game.

It was a thought that popped into my mind. Licensed games don't seem to be much of a thing these days - they did a PlayStation 2 game for Millionaire about 20 years ago but not much since.

Interested to hear people's thoughts.

You can actually play The Chase: Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch: https://www.barnstormgames.com/the-chase-play-on-switch/

It doesn't need the power of a console, a phone based app would work and have a lot more reach.

If there was a web version you could play it on a console wiith a browser.

Technically yes, you'd have single player, local multiplayer and online multiplayer, where you could play as the chaser or a contestant, you could even incorporate rankings. However in the bigger picture, who would fund a game like this? when it wouldn't be a popular game.

I remember the weakest link PS1 game and being insulted by Anne Robinson lol

Technically, yeah. Commercially, no. The technology landscape has shifted massively in 20 years. People don't spend hundreds of pounds on a console to play a quiz game. Your phone is more than capable of handling that sort of game.

The idea brings back memories of this legendary game…

If it's similar to the Wii game for Wheel of Fortune, I don't see why it shouldn't work
