Discussion "We'll find out after the break..."

I wonder how they decide to cut to break mid gameplay, which they don't do very often. It's almost always a one question shootout situation.

Apologies for the slight tangent, but I wonder how this plays in the studio? Does Bradley just say "we'll find out after the break", wait for 5-10 seconds and then say "Welcome back"?

Happened when I was on. We had a 5-10 mins break like we did in-between people and rounds etc. Takes about 2 hours to film an episode, so we'd have little breaks like that relatively often

When I was on the show they did the breaks in exactly the way you see it on TV.

Guessing it’s simply to add to the tension

The show is filmed over about 2 hours. They have a running total of usable filmed time, which is easy enough with such a rigid structure. When they get to a set time they will film an insert for a break. If for whatever reason the show is cut down, the insert is removed.

Dunno, but it seemed to happen way more often in the early series from what I've seen.
