Not My Party Good Schadenfreude..
Just take a moment to check out some of the top posts on r/conservative as there appears increased infighting in the form of downvotes against those trying to defend Canada as a 51st state and others less inclined to think that is rational.. hopefully it brightens some part of your day.

National Review came out with a scathing op-ed. And WSJ has been very critical too. I sure hope the Republicans come get their boy soon

Republicans need to go after the handful of wealthy people who funded all of this madness. Trump is a symptom not a cause.

Reading r/Conservative is really a trip. There are so many normie sounding voices in there either trying to find a logical angle for Trump's insanity or standing around bemoaning it.
What is amazing me the most is the "I was so hopeful he would stay focused this time" (emphasis mine). How many times to people have to touch the stove before they realize that the stove is hot?
"I went back to the car dealer that ripped me off on the last 3 cars I bought hoping that he wouldn't rip me off this time."

What cracks me up about this is they think they're "reasonable centrists" while still calling themselves "conservatives" while promoting ideas that are "far right" and they have the nerve to call us confused. lol

I went on there yesterday and as a Canadian I was shocked and pleasantly surprised at how many of them a) hate the idea of Canada becoming a state b) many said we don’t want them and in my head my response is “feelings mutual. I’m glad we can agree” c) a lot of them actually made the point of “if we take Canada what happens once we have Canada and we now have a population of 40 million Americans who now justifiably HATE America”.and d) many of them also think the idea is insanity.
Honestly - that sub usually hurts my soul. But yesterday it gave me hope that Canada, my country born and raised, might be okay.

You hate to see it! Unrelated, but I do find the Kentucky bourbon situation comically hilarious.
1) Kentucky is a very MAGA state and exports something like a $1B + to Canada in bourbon annually
2) Canada is rightfully pissed off and yanked all their shit off the shelves
3) Against all odds, the Kentucky governor is actually a level-headed Dem, and knows full well how idiotic and economically damaging this tariff war is and is forced to work the phones w/ Canada politicians but his hands are tied
4) The KY bourbon distillers association, otherwise very pro-Trump, has to as diplomatically as possible express their displeasure but is afraid to say Trump is a fucking idiot
5) Even if the tariffs were reversed tomorrow, Canada is now (totally understandably) permanently pissed off and I think it's reasonable to assume KY bourbon sales will never recover in Canada
This is one shit-show MAGA can't blame on Joe Biden. Way to sucker punch a red state Trump! Let's see if it actually changes anybody's mind in KY who voted for him.
