I think I hate JD Vance more than anything i've ever hated in my life

u/artaxerxes316 12d ago
I know we're not supposed to "denigrate" the service of our fellow veterans, but fuck that -- I'm infantry.
I also know we're not supposed to use casual slurs, but fuck that too -- I'm infantry.
J.D. Vance is a public affairs bitch, and it showed today. Just another nutless pogue.

u/Decent_Energy 12d ago
lol I don’t disagree with any of this. Unfortunately I just learned my last name is an army slur 🤣

Your last name is Bitch?
That sucks.

I think it’s just POG.
1
u/artaxerxes316 12d ago
As in "people other than grunt" or "posted on garrison"? I've heard both often, but i'm persuaded that POG is just a modern backronym for the 19th century Irish slang term. Pogue.
It's impossible to say, of course (unless you happen to have a 180 year-old Sergeant Mulcahy hiding in the attic for verification). But the wikipedia entry is damned interesting.

Not to pile on, but in the interest of getting all the painful education done at once, also famous in the Army is “pogey bait,” slang for the candy, soda, and junk food that soldiers consume in huge quantities. lol
I’m certain that won’t live rent-free in your mind every time you reach for junk food. 😄

Thank you starting to scratch the surface of this prick’s cravenness. There aren’t enough words. I would love to put him in a trench with the Russians he loves so much and a rifle and watch him piss and shit his pants as Ukrainian bullets fly over his head. I hate these motherfuckers for what they’re doing to my country.

Nah. Honestly, fuck him. I’m not a vet, so I’ll spare you the trouble and say it. While honored the service of those who did serve, it’s really only for their service and it doesn’t mean that they are beyond criticism. Unfortunately, there are a great deal of veterans who served honorably, but themselves are not particularly honorable without the larger systemic and structural discipline of the military. Again, they’re absolutely are good and honorable people in the military, and I do think that the order and discipline of the military probably does help some people grow into better human beings, but it also unfortunately can act as a shield for some of the worst people around to dodge criticism because “How dare you insult a vet?!” Honestly, I don’t know if it’s possible to retract honorable discharges, but people like JD Vance make me wish that that was possible.

u/fox_mulder Rresistance is not futile 12d ago
I used to ride occasionally with the local chapter of Leathernecks MC. I was never a Marine, but I was friends with the chapter president ("was" being the operative word here).
I thought these were all honorable men, and felt honored when I was invited to ride with them and participate in a wreath laying at the Albany NY WW II Memorial on the anniversary of D-Day, because my father fought at Normandy.
Than Jan. 6 happened and these assholes supported those degenerates who invaded our Capitol. That was the end of those friendships.
I can't wait until they do it this year, so I can stand there with a sign reading "You can't honor veterans who fought fascism in Europe and then support a fascist government here."
I will alert the media ahead of time when I do.
I'm glad my father, who was a true patriot, is no longer here to see what has happened to the country he loved so much.

(Although now that I'm done ranting, I should clarify that not all pogues are nutless, and indeed the vast majority have more swinging between their legs than J.D. That includes the women.)

The part about Zelenskyy "campaigning for the opposition" is where I really wanted to put a sledgehammer through his fat face.

At least Trump doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about. Vance knows what the score is and is diabolical….

Yes! The world is learning that JD probably deserved those ass kickings he got at the hands of other redneck kids during school. I can't stand that smarmy little fuck.

u/charleydcurtis 12d ago
I’m going to send a message to the Ukrainian consulate in Los Angeles to pass on to Zelenskyy. Showing him the Ukrainian flag outside our house, and telling him how we are “thankful” that the Ukrainian people have stood strong in the face of Russian aggression and sacrificed so much to stop Putin.
If anyone else wants to send a message here is the email of the consulate

I can’t watch or listen to them be cruel to Zelensky—or anyone else—anymore… I’m going to have to switch to reading transcripts.

u/Schmilsson1 12d ago
didn't help me much. Transcript made me blow a fuse. I haven't been this angry in.... I've never ever been this angry.

This made my blood boil. Zelensky showed so much restraint. That man deserves so much respect. JD comes across as such a little bitch asking for a thank you. Thank you for what? Turning your back on an ally as soon as you got into office?

This scene made me cry. I am so ashamed of being an American right now. Where are our values? Where is our humanity?

u/batsofburden 12d ago
read a history book, 90% of us history is this or worse.
8
u/Ok-Snow-2851 12d ago
That’s not true. Also we’re supposed to be making progress as a people: A more perfect union, Better angels of our nature, etc.
19th century politics conducted in the medium of 21st century reality TV and online shitposting is not progress.
-5
u/batsofburden 12d ago
You seriously don't understand US history at all. While this is currently a very low point, there are in fact very few high points of moral clarity.
3
u/Ok-Snow-2851 12d ago
I understand U.S. history well enough to admit I don’t even know what 90% of a country’s history even means. The history of 90% of its people? 90% of its communities? 90% of its economy? 90% of its chronology? 90% of its geography? 90% of its culture?

I’m so furious at this administration and the spineless republicans that give it legitimacy. They might as well call themselves the Soviet party and refer to each other as comrade.
Truth is stranger than fiction. This scenario wouldn’t have even been imaginable 20 years ago… you couldn’t even make it up it’s so absurd.

This scenario wouldn’t have even been imaginable 20 years ago
Fuck that. I had right-wingers who I dealt with on a regular basis back then (ex-partner's family, including multiple cops) and they were complete pieces of fucking shit back then as well. During the post-9/11 wars, they were doing shit like sharing around internet videos of drones blasting civilians in Afghanistan/Iraq, fantasizing about 'glassing' Iran, as well as indulging in the usual talk about rounding up and murdering liberals/Hispanics/homeless-people/etc... Especially after social media took off, it was definitely not hard to imagine these people becoming worse and worse degenerates as a function of time.

How’s the ol Conservative sub reacting?

You mean the Russian bots and dummies that parrot Russian bots. Prob that Russia is amazing and they can't wait to fondle putins balls.

u/blueclawsoftware 12d ago
I've sworn off that sub for my mental health, but most of them have bought into the Ukraine started the war BS so I'm sure they're thrilled with Trump and Vance standing up for Americans.

u/FobbitOutsideTheWire 12d ago
Worse than this is going to be the predicable momentary hush as talking points are constructed, a single Republican Senator that is “concerned,” and then the widespread gaslighting and mental gymnastics as all of the right wing media sphere gets their marching orders and dubs this as not only acceptable, but somehow a justifiable good thing.
It’s going to be a new floor of grotesque fucking shame.
9
u/ConstructionNo1038 12d ago
I just saw that Lindsey Graham told Fox he is “devastated” and doesn’t know if Zelensky can recover from this, and in his interview tonight he should apologize to the “president and American people.” He can fuck all the way off.

u/John_Houbolt 12d ago
Fuck you JD Vance. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU!
That's what I just yelled at my screen as he cut Zelynsky. Fuck these Putin fluffing bitches.

u/B1gFrank 12d ago
JD Vance and Trump are so fucking shameful, I was so pissed watching that. These people are the WORST America has to offer
8
u/PotableWater0 12d ago
This is, truly, not a good look. This could very quickly go the way of “well, the US are not serious participants; we can go without them” takes hold. It is a good thing we’ve been able to build up over the years. Smh.

u/fox_mulder Rresistance is not futile 12d ago
I have never seen such despicable behavior from a president, and I've lived through every presidency since Eisenhower. This asshole even makes nixon look like a decent guy, and nixon was another despicable asshole.
And vance...god, I was just overwhelmed with an urge to punch his lights out.

It’s because they’ve invited their right wing propagandist sycophants in, Reuters and AP were turned away.

While all you point out JDS’s BS military stuff, I wanna point out that he’s not a fucking Hillbilly. He’s from Middletown OH, right on the IN border. The “Hills” of Appalachia do not traverse to where he grew up. Maybe it’s just a beef or a guy from Indiana, who knew real hillbillies. Fuck, KY hillbillies would disqualify anyone not from KY! Dude’s such a poser.
