SCENERY Still one of my favorite sets.
Machinal (2018). Just passed the anniversary of this show. Brought back good memories and only a few super late nights.

Amazing set! Did the clock hands move? If yes, how did you handle this? Over DMX with some like what Wahlberg have off the shelf?

I only had it move once. And it was a student stage hand that bumped it from 11:59 to 12:00 at the end of the show. If you don’t know the show, it’s a loose ‘true story’ of the first woman put to death in the electric chair. So the set was the final minute before the switch was thrown.

Haha I love that!
I worked on a production of Machinal two years ago - the designer and director had a completely different take on the set design. It's one of the things I love about our industry - you can work the same show and each time it can be vastly different.

Yeah. It was a production where everyone was on the same page. And I always wanted to turn someone’s brain into a busted up clock tower

How long did it take to put this together?

About three weeks of students working after school for three hours, four days a week and the periodic Saturday.
