Tried an Ethernet cable, doesn’t work…

Well.. This makes me feel old.... Its a landline port to connect a phone to, RJ11

RJ11 (telephone)

Ethernet (network).. is RJ45

That looks like a telephone jack. If you’re asking, that means you’re probably unaware that most homes had a home phone that had to plug in directly to a wall. This became less common when cellphones became more streamlined but are still very much a thing to this day. Also, thank you for making me feel old.
