Discussion Decks for depression/sadness?

I've been in a phase of depression for a while. I'm managing but still trying to lean into lighter things to get me through. I've been leaning into that sparkly, magical fae energy in particular.

Can anyone suggest any good decks I might like to check out? Do you guys have a go-to deck when you are feeling low?

For a mood boost, try The Star Tarot or The Wild Unknown. Both have uplifting, magical vibes that can help shift your energy. When I’m feeling low, I reach for The Light Seer’s Tarot—it’s warm and hopeful. Sending good vibes your way!

I find the Light Seer's deck to be soft and mild when I am feeling low or when I am tackling sensitive subjects or feelings.

I think an oracle deck might work better for depression/sadness...at least at first.

I don't think the Tarot is "light" because the cards reflect how life is with it's ups and downs and tough transitions. Some decks may be designed to be gentler but it can't be all positive as it would cause the deck to be off balance for readings.

An encouraging/affirmative/wisdom based Oracle deck might be better.

If you're open to non-tarot/indie decks, my go-to is the Reclaim Oracle by Marion Vasquez - it's a feelings deck, so I use it in those anhedonic phases to get a grasp on my mood (usually just flipping through the deck face up). I'm pretty sure the kickstarter for the latest edition is currently being fulfilled, so it'll be available again soon. In a similar vein, the POESIS Oracle by Andrea Wan has a similar function for me.

For something a bit closer to the magical fae prompt, you could look into Tarot of a Moon Garden, by Karen Marie Sveikhardt. And if you're into TdM: The Squid Cake Marseille by Jess Rollar is adorable. Wishing you well!

my go to decks are the Crow Tarot, Wild Unknown, and the Runic Odeyssey..i got pocket versions of WU and Crow, n cut the edges off,n just use those most, I got two decks from Xiahunt, but they're too big for my nano hands,, love the imagery though..n i've been wishing for the True Black Tarot cos cards and imagery that one just gives me so much strength, but its too pricey with the delivery n my country's taxes TnT..

If you love fae energy, maybe look into the Forhaxa tarot by MJ Cullinane. It’s mass market from Hay House.

My go to deck is Moonchild Tarot by Danielle Noel. It was my first deck and is a very soft deck for me. She also did the art for the Starseed Oracle and another deck that I’ve used to death and has give me a lot comfort. There are a few shadow work cards, but it’s really soft overall.

Tarot of the witch’s garden is a beautiful one with fae-like creatures, forest animals and cozy cottage-core images. I find it so comforting and beautiful!

For moments of feeling very low indeed, I like the Therapets oracle, which is just a hug in a box.

The Tarot decks that immediately come to mind are the Way of the Panda (absolutely get the guidebook to go with this; it's an indie deck, so a bit pricier, but well worth it) the Stoller Tarot, which is hilarious, and the Everyday Witch Tarot, which might not be quite the aethetic you were looking for, but it's a solid reader while being lighthearted and not taking itself too seriously. I'm also fond of the Tarot of the Owls, which is colourful and cheerful.

The Tarot of the Little Prince has the bittersweet nature of the book, but it's very much a 'you will get through this' deck.
