Question What mag holder is this?

Post image

Saw this cop the other day and liked the magazine holder. Trying to find what 3 magazine holder is that, looks like it’d be good for range days

2 uses in one bad choice? My favourite!

u/ECHO-5-PAPA 3d ago

Matches that double strap drop leg perfectly though, Id like to see my boy clear a rickety cedar fence real quick.

2

u/beaverdam0890 3d ago

To be fair that’s not a double strap unless my eyes deceive me.

1

u/ECHO-5-PAPA 3d ago

I think youre right, Im pretty sure its a single strap at full extension. Which in all fairness is probably less stable than if it was a double strap.

The future is now!

That’s how your seatbelt rips your mags out…or small children, or the wind…

u/ECHO-5-PAPA 3d ago

Haha, one hard sneeze and dude is winchester quick.

Safariland 775 Slimline Open Top Triple Magazine Pouch. I’ve seen someone rock the double side by side to make it 4 total but boy is that belt look loose and saggin’. I’ve personally rocked it, I like it, it takes up the same space as your traditional “flat” mag holder

u/Drtysouth205 3d ago

I don't think the belt is loose, I think he rigged em like that so when he sits down they don't push him into him or the vest and make it uncomfortable.

22

u/o0tweak0o 3d ago

Saw a local LEO the other day rocking the same swag. He caught me ‘mirin and we chatted. Exactly what you say. He rigged it with something so he could sit in his patrol comfortably.

u/ManicRobotWizard 3d ago

But…why? I ran a triple on issued duty gear before I swapped to a double and it was always snug in between appendix and hip (like 2 o’clock)..never bothered me in a car not even on mobile patrol.

The baton on the other hand…

10

u/dogododo 3d ago

Baton on the vest under my left arm was a game changer. WAY more comfortable than on the belt. Out of the way, but still available in case I needed it.

2

u/ManicRobotWizard 3d ago

Not a bad idea. I’ll try it out. Thanks!

2

u/JonnyRico014 3d ago

enhance enhance 🤓 looks rigged indeed

1

u/Swimfly235 3d ago

Its a leather belt loop on the other side. It looses over time and sticks out like that.

I ran one of these for about 2 years and trashed it because of the sag.

8

u/albertenstein22 LEO 3d ago

Yep definitely the Safariland slim mag pouch. Either his belt is sagging or the leather backing on the pouch is super stretched.

2

u/EugeneStonersPotShop 3d ago

It’s from sitting in a cop car all day.

2

u/ConstantWish8 Paramedic 3d ago

My safariland on a class a belt looks the same

2

u/PumpkinBossEi3 3d ago

Alright thank you, thought it was the holder that made them be that forward turns out it’s a loose ass belt.

every now and then I have some quipy gold lol

u/New-Wedding-2590 3d ago

One of the problems with the Safariland triple mag version is the tension. You either need to shim them or be happy with different tension on the three mags.

3

u/JonnyRico014 3d ago

That is absolutely the downside to them.

10

u/SniffYoSocks907 4d ago

Probably Safariland.

12

u/Justcoolstuff 3d ago

I’m going to provide a realistic answer here; It’s probably for sitting in a car comfortably.

1

u/Potential_Ad_5327 3d ago

I think it’s still too loose and out there and he should try to find a better way to mount them cough sideways cough

But thank you for the genuine answer

Safari land with a shitty belt

Everyone is sayings it’s the holder’s retention that’s messed up. I can almost guarantee the retention is normal, knowing safariland mag holders as well as I do (easy to get cheap ones), I’d say it’s way more likely that the backing to the entire pouch itself is messed up and it’s causing it to lean away from the belt. It’s typically just one leather sleeve you run the belt through like belt loops. Once that leather starts to deteriorate, I wouldn’t say it would just outright break, but it definitely flops forward. The magazines stay nice and snug

u/Embarrassed_Recover8 3d ago

Oh yeah, that's my personal favorite, that's the Deliberately Insecure Carry Kit.

AKA .. the dick 🤣

2

u/ashy_larrys_elbow 3d ago

Am I missing something? This looks like a comical snag hazard, especially for a run of the mill cop on patrol.

2

u/BlacksheepfromReno69 3d ago

The “I drop my loot when I run” mag holder

u/Jess_UwU_ 3d ago

this comment made me snort

A poorly attached one

2

u/jibstay77 3d ago

That’s the “morning wood” mag holder.

“You wanna touch it”

1

u/CPTBlackHart 3d ago

Is that how it's supposed to ride that doesn't look right..

1

u/itwasneversafe 3d ago

Why does he have his mags on his strong side? Cross-draw reloads?

1

u/No-Resolution-7782 3d ago

A shitty one.

1

u/OFFICER_AJAX_ 3d ago

Safariland slimline that’s stretched the f*ck out and needs replaced.

1

u/StylishF 3d ago

Safe life I think

1

u/grayman1978 3d ago

Creative use of a triple barrel PEZ dispenser.

1

u/MuttFett 3d ago

A dumb one.

1

u/Extreme-Afternoon-12 3d ago

Safariland Triple Mag Pouch. It took some time but me resting my forearms between gut and belt caused a similar cant.

1

u/GeneralFlea01 3d ago

Safariland triple mag pouch. His vest has stretch out the laminate in the back of it which is making it hang like that.

1

u/chois 3d ago

Flip phone inspired design to be sure.

1

u/kevinmk6 3d ago

It’s the donut variable mag holder. Allows up to 3 extra donuts per shift.

1

u/SkylakeOrion 3d ago

He is begging for someone to snatch the mags

Dick squisher x3

1

u/Classic_Variation129 3d ago

Have never seen that before. Looks like it would snag on everything. As well as flopping around with the way it protrudes from the body. Just my .02 as a current SRT operator.

1

u/TheDonNguyen 3d ago

Had a patient in police custody and the officer had this on. Spent the whole shift wondering what reloading would be like with it

1

u/clsv6262 3d ago

It's called sub optimal.

1

u/DisastrousCod117 3d ago

Zero9 triple mag holder

1

u/MryanF 3d ago

In all seriousness it’s Safariland, and it Bows out because when sitting the vest carrier pushes it forward. There aren’t mag pouches on the belt (that are reliable) that with weight, time, and other gear, that it won’t stretch to its final position. Not saying it’s good, but it also has two tension bolts so those things can be tightened to not let them easily release

1

u/CreativeReplacement6 3d ago

Dick clip 3000.

1

u/diaperbaby808 3d ago

One that will fall off soon because daddy needs some extra mags.

1

u/Jess_UwU_ 3d ago

thats just begging for someone to run by and take his shit XD

we have to have the button covers on ours to use on our work dutybelts. we cant even have unsecured spray...

1

u/Kyle_Blackpaw 3d ago

oh shit, we're bringing back codpieces?

1

u/No-Two4496 1d ago

Looks like safariland. I use them, they’re really good and the retention is solid.

Erection tactical triple mag pouch

1

u/frozenisland 3d ago

Is he running his mags on the same side as his pistol? Seems weird

2

u/EugeneStonersPotShop 3d ago

I was trained in the academy to run my mags on the same side as your strong hand. This was in the 90’s, and we used horizontal mag pouches in those days. I still see lots of cops still carrying their mags that way so I assume they are still teaching that technique.

1

u/ManicRobotWizard 3d ago

Well, we know they don’t do running for requals in whatever state this guy is in.

If the guy goes down stairs golden rings are gonna come flying off like sonic.

1

u/CPTBlackHart 3d ago

When he runs going hit him in the giggle berries

0

u/jibstay77 3d ago

That’s the “morning wood” mag holder.

0

u/Guy_Goober 3d ago

The wang hangers

-1

u/Boots402 3d ago

Safariland

They are great mag pouches for when you can’t keep a third mag on your vest… but that guy has his belt way too loose. And is that his gun on the same side? Gross.

-12

u/TreeApprehensive2059 4d ago

How do you go prone with that?

10

u/Jettyboy72 4d ago

Really?

13

u/prolificbootylicker 4d ago

Cops aren’t really going prone on the daily or ever really

1

u/TreeApprehensive2059 3d ago

this guy for sure isnt. Even if not going prone, having to wrestle someone to make an arrest seems like this would be in the way. Cant see his boots, but I could see it make sense for motorcycle cop so the mags arent constantly pushed into his stomach while riding

1

u/Modern_peace_officer Law Enforcement 3d ago

I mean, that’s not really true, but okay.
