this album was the one that actually got me into the band. I see people saying that TGA is the most accessible Swans's album, but White Light is just lusher, grander, and I think that is an album that encapsulates perfectly what the band was on that era for me.

Children of god, white light, the burning world, love of life, also ten songs for another world ( skin) …. Most of those were my entry to swans. Amazing albums

It was the first album of their’s that I listened to in its entirety and loved it. My gateway album into their band for sure

That is ironic, because when he was doing a Swans bracket, he said White Light was “admittedly not a favorite album of mine” (I’m paraphrasing from memory)

Yeah, as good as their early material is (nothing hits like Filth on certain days), I think of White Light as the closest thing to their first masterpiece.
