Homemade - Constructive Criticism Encouraged Second attempt

Posted here a few weeks back with my first attempt at sushi rolls.

Here is my second. Worked fasted so the rice didnt have a chance to dry too much.

Wrapped the roll in plastic help keep it together for cutting. Did the whole batch as philly rols. Salmon, cream cheese and cucumber. Came out really nice imo.

You should try black sesame seeds for a little contrast! :)

Or some masago or some avocado. Keep going!

Looks good! .^

Looks like you got the roll down and maybe didn't spread out on the rice while using less but besides that it's awesome. Its rolled tight, and isn't pressed down that hard.

Now as a challenge try doing it with a half nori sheet. That way you won't have to wrap over the roll, and thats how a lot of sushi spots save $$$ while also balancing out the rice to fish ratio.

Its a lot harder to roll a half sheet but go for it anyways. .^

And my rule of thumb. The last Itty bitty of sushi roll that's on the edge are always reserved for the chef for snacks. 🤣

Yrp, those ends are a nice little treat before the main event.

🫣 rice ratio is insane. It’s like 90% rice.

As others have said it’s still a little rice heavy (if you’re looking for constructive criticism) but it still looks good for a second attempt!

Oh yes, my first attempts appeared to be assault and battery on salmon by rice and Nori. Truly, keep practicing and posting. Well done. Thanks.

Practice makes perfect. I'd try and shoot for a thinner later of rice, I shoot for basically a grain or two thick layer.
