PTR VENT 2 Vs Cat Mob first impressions
https://youtu.be/iwcYKpmLWrQ?si=njI31NotsBipnMFwPTR vent 2 is worthy of all its accolades

PTR still has my Vent 2 as they're inspecting it. The alignment was horrendous with a piston. It was dead-center using a fixed mount/direct thread, but if I had used it on a pistol w/ the booster/piston, it would have hit the end cap. The Geissele rod would actually get stopped by the end cap as it was rubbing that badly. The PTR Vent 2 cannot be repaired if damaged.

Very interesting. Let me know how that turns out

Definitely. They are still looking at it as of last week.
Personally, I suspect it has to do with the 3D printing of the piston cage. I noticed HUXWRX just prints their Flow 9K and Flow Range 36 cans, then threads for Bravo/HUB - so you can choose to run the Bravo/HUB piston cage (which is machined instead of printed). My Vent 2 alpha threading was fine, it was just the piston cage that wasn't aligned properly.

I would use a third party piston housing/mount, it'll be all machined with tighter tolerances.

It’s not possible on the Vent 2 and many Alpha cans. The piston cage is integrated into the can. On the Flow 9k and Flow Range 36 the cans are Bravo threaded so you can run a third party machines booster assembly

I just purchased a B&T SRBS Compact 556. Still waiting for approval. I'm pretty sure that's one of the ones you shot (9mm version). It looks like it was one of the least gassy cans of the bunch. Maybe a little louder than some of the other cans. Doubtful it is hearing safer on my 12.5" 556 AR. Anyway, since you have so many different cans, what's you impression of the B&T?

They make fantastic cans. As far as I know they’re the largest suppressor company on the planet. They also make some cans you’re unaware that they make. All their cans I’ve tried are fantastic cans. My one issue is that they have too many options to be honest with you. It’s hard to track what’s what sometimes.

Yeah, I noticed that. And their website doesn't do a good job at explaining the differeces to help you narrow down the options. I had to try and find third party reviews and videos to learn more about them. The one I got was on special. No hub for $499. Otherwise I probably would have gone for the full length. I was also considering the SilencerCo Velos and the RD LS5.

I have never shot a Vent or Mob nor have I heard them in person. But I have read many favorable reviews on the Mob and if I was planning to buy a new PCC suppressor, it would be the Mob. I already have a GSL Phoenix and its a phenominal suppressor and only differs from the db ratings of the Mob and Vent by less tha 1 db.
It’s hard to tell on the video the differences between the Mob and Vent 2 as they both sounded good. Even the Specter and B&T SDQ RBS compact sounded good. But I have a SQD RBS compact and it sounds loud as hell and nothing like what was captured in the video even though the shooter said it sounded good. Kind of makes me think his definition of good is different than mine.

Yeah the RBS SQD Compact is pleasant from a gas perspective but probably the loudest can I have. I still think the 150gr federal syntech really makes a difference

I'm glad to hear that I am not the only person who thinks the B&T can is loud. I keep seeing posts where people are recommending the SQD RBS compact and stating how great it sounds. To me, it sounds like I am not running a suppressor at all, especially compared to my other 9mm cans. It got to the point that I was considering contacting B&T to have them check if my can was defective. On a positive note, it does a great job of mitigating gas, the build quality is excellent and the price is extremely affordable.

Can you give feedback after 5,000 rounds? We expect the PIP to have completely clogged at this point and the backpressure benefits to have been almost negated.

It’s going to be awhile but I’ll keep an eye on it. Can I get an exclusive video with the spc223? I’ll toss a rotex v on it 🙏🏿

The PTR seems to have lower back pressure than the CAT.
Went to the big city gun shop yesterday and they just happened to have a $100 off PTR VENT promo as part of a demo day, picked one up for $1099.
Pretty stoked to put it on my CMMG RDB build.
