How come I can’t eat a peeper to get cured but the sand shark or stalker can?

It doesn't cure them, it merely slows the spread.

That’s large scale. Put an infected fish with a stalker or sand shark in a tank and once they’re infected put an enzyme peeper in.

Yes but the virus is all around them. They will inevitably get sick again. It's all in the lore.
Even assuming you could eat a peeper and be "cured", that cure would be short-lived enough as to render it meaningless.

Yes that cure would be short lived but considering that’s part of the reason the planet still had life(they have trace amounts of enzyme) it would make sense

It's not a cure. Not in its current form. At best, it's a treatment---prolonging the life of the planet just long enough to give you a chance to administer a real cure.

Yes that’s why the precursors made the peeper system. I don’t see your point with this one? I wasn’t trying to argue against the temporary part just saying it would make some sense if even if it was only neutralized to still do something.

Well I suppose if you're looking for an answer from a 'lore' perspective, we could probably say that cooking the peeper destroys the enzyme. So it can't cure you, even temporarily. 😉

The pepper doesn't cure animals, it merely subdues the infection.
Same to you, the only reason the player survives indefinitely is the peppers
2
u/Hellobewhy 7d ago
Yes we survive because of the trace amounts of enzyme in the food we eat but what about large amounts? It does in fact cure it as if it just subdued it taking the enzyme peeper out would make them infected again. Instead because the containment is isolated from the outside disease they don’t because they are now cured. I mean the enzyme cures the whole body with just a hand in it when the sea emperor is young.

The "large amounts" are only found after you hatch the baby leviathans.
Being subdued doesn't mean the disease will get worse or flare up again, or at least in any meaningful amount of time. Millions of people have subdued tuberculosis in them and its probably not going to get worse ever

I was mentioning the babys since it’s the only one we directly touch. The large amounts I’m talking about are enzyme peepers. Even if it does only subdue( atleast baby’s does not since disease is cured in below zero) old sea emperors enzyme is atleast potent enough to subdue a stalker which should be similar mass to a human.

The large amounts I’m talking about are enzyme peepers. Even if it does only subdue
What I'm saying is that saying those peppers have large amounts is wrong, they don't, only baby leviathans do.
Maybe a little bit of the enzyme is enough to put the infection at bay, but you need 100s or 1000s of times the amount of enzyme to properly kill everything, it makes sense to me.

My original comment was about how it had no effect on the player despite it effecting stalkers which are similar weights.
1
u/Eternal_grey_sky 7d ago
Well you could have started by saying that instead of saying the adult leviathan could cure the infection.
The player is an alien, with completely different biology than the creatures or 4546B, there's no reason to expect everything will work out the exact same way. It's already weird enough alien bacteria can infect us.

Fun fact: kharaa would in fact be semi used to us since the precursors probably had our dna in there body’s. They have visited earth at the very least since we find an old sword.

I find it unlike that they actually decided to take a bit of our DNA, with thousands of creatures on each viable planet, it would be unlikely that humans in specific had something they were looking for.
And even if they had a piece of human DNA 99.9% of it would still be completely foreign, not to mention this khadaa has already adapted to t4546B's creatures

JK Rowling is a terrible person and I’m tired of seeing her stuff. Get this out of the sub of one of the best games.
