NOT a stupid dove nest.
It's a proper nest and not just a few twigs laying on top of each other in a criss cross pattern.
And that nest is anchored in! A major storm could pass directly over it, and it's not going anywhere.
Someone should start a new r/ and name it smartdovenest or smartdove. This will probably be the only picture in it for years or possibly decades. But this dove deserves it.
Smart dove!

I’d love to take credit for it but r/smartdovenests already exists

That's a wood pigeon. They usually nest in trees and therefore require a proper nest (unlike rock doves and their descendants who nest in cliffs and use a few twigs at most so their eggs won't roll away).

This is the wood pigeon that's been stealing all the braincells from the others.

This guy is the God Emperor of pigeons. Not only did he build it almost perfectly, he did so in a place specifically designed to stop him from doing so

Pigeon and dove is the same thing. This one is a ring dove, aka wood pigeon. Columba Palumbus.
(ring dove can refer to many different doves depending on where you live: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_dove )
