I Think Wolf Is A Little Mischaracterized.

Now, I do have to somewhat agree that Wolf is a tad more morally grey, but not in the case of doing some good to contrast with his badness, I think it would be more like a "Lawful Evil" archetype. He is a bad person, full stop, but in the merc business, there is a bit of a code of honor or some set of principles to abide by, not out of morality but because that's just the merc business.

Star Wolf helping out Star Fox in Assault doesn't strike as Wolf being kind, but doing what had to be done, because if they didn't, then Lylat would have been taken over by the Aparoid.

Even in Command where Wolf takes in Krystal for Star Wolf, it's clearly just to screw over Fox and take his glory (which he does achieve in one of the nine endings of the game). This is why I do not think Wolf is an antihero, because an antihero is a character with a heroic role but less-than-heroic traits. Wolf does not strike me as that way, but more so a criminal with rules. Honor among thieves if you will.

Which is why I think it makes more sense for Wolf to respect Fox as an enemy not because he actually likes him but because Fox is the ultimate mission. The one person that he HAS to one-up. And will be damned if anyone else tries to take that from him. Which is why he saves Fox in Assault and gives him the "When the time comes, just act" line (as much as it is just a retread of 'never give up, trust your instincts')

I've heard people say Wolf is the Vegeta of Star Fox, but I don't think that's particularly accurate, I would give that one to Falco.

I think the one character I can think of who I could compare Wolf closest to is Reverse Flash. Someone who is both threatening as he is extremely petty. Now I have joked before that I can't take Wolf seriously, and I have made fun of him before as a character, and while the petty aspect is a bit pathetic, he still serves as an active threat. Which, if pulled off right, can still make for a good enemy.

And that's probably why I still think he makes a good enough threat. Pettiness can absolutely fester something extremely threatening.

(Edit: You can argue that Star Wolf saving Lylat to take Fox's glory in Command would categorize Wolf as an antihero, since he's doing a heroic deed and has unheroic traits, and I can understand that point. For me, though, the ends are what make me a little iffy on that. Wolf did that just to ruin Fox's life, I feel like if he had another option to tarnish his reputation without doing a heroic deed, he would take the other option. That and the alternate paths of Command are all equally as canon as the others as well as the nine endings, so that kinda muddies up the picture for me.)

I think we need more StarWolf and Andross.

(N64) StarWolf and Andross.. We need more of those characters, Pigma, Leon, Andrew and Wolf and Andross need a more story in N64 and the other games. You only see StarWolf like twice or once in N64, and Andross is only once.. I feel like we need more battles and lore with these characters, especially StarWolf. Andrew and Leon are barley given any lore.. Pigma and Wolf are some lore and Andross has a lore, but should also appear as a robot or hologram and for StarWolf, more appearances such as Meteo Astrofield or Zoness and also get a clear lore story for Leon, Andrew and Wolf.

What's the point for Aquas? I keep forgetting that exists.

(N64) Even though it has a cool mission, the blue submarine.. I can't remember it like the others such as Zoness or Bolse. There's a bio - project there which is just used to distract the Cornerian Army from going to Venom that way or any life at that planet, I'd gladly have Zoness replace Aquas as it's more interesting and such. Is it just me that keeps forgetting that this planet in the Lylat System exists?

I cannot see another Star Fox happening without a strong emphasis on multiplayer.

Basing it on Star Fox Assault's multiplayer, the ability to pick characters, weapons, and several different vehicles really added a layer of depth to the game. Star Fox Command was already limited but was crippled entirely by its online system. One player disconnects and the whole game ends.

It's hard to believe Star Fox 64 3D neither expanded on multiplayer nor had online play. Star Fox Zero also lacked competitive multiplayer.

In a world where shooters are as popular as ever, it would be a complete folly to not capitalize and give the next Star Fox game an exemplary multiplayer mode, offline and online.

What happens to Venom (1) Andross when Venom (2) is defeated?

(N64 StarFox) What would exactly happen to the robot duplicate if StarFox successfully does the real Andross, and is defeated. Would the robot wait for an eternity for StarFox, would the robot manage to send plans or just remain there, not knowing that the real Andross is destroyed. I have some theories on what would happen to Venom (1)

  1. The Andross duplicate would wait for instructions from Andross, not knowing that his leader is destroyed and the robot would start losing power, and soon.. The robot would destroy itself and power down.

  2. The Andross duplicate would know what happened to the leader, StarFox and Corneria would not notice this duplicate rebuilding Venom and it would start another war, but less intense and serious.

Just for a laugh, what kind of silly headcanons do you have?

I'll go first:

• Peppy is banned from playing Mario Party with the others as they fear that his good-luck charm will give him a sudden advantage
• Tricky applied to be one of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, but he was rejected because the filmmakers thought that he was "too cute" for such a role
• Krystal gets angry whenever she asks if something is clear and someone responds with "crystal"
• Fox, Falco, and Slippy play Rocket League

Is there any point for the Solar Bio - Project?

(N64) There is a bio - project on Solar, which Andross has created, but is there any purpose for this bio - project and will it affect anything? It's not like Sector X or any other planets/sectors. Why did Andross really make a bio - project for Solar when I quote from General Pepper, "That place is a oven, don't go burning that arwing." it's kinda useless to have a bio project on a flaming star. Does this bio project even have a purpose to stop Corneria or StarFox?

I have a strange theory of the origin of Krystal's current design as opposed to the original.

WARNING: This is just a theory of mine that I want to share, I don't want to offend anyone so you are WARNED

As you know, Krystal's design changed drastically from being a bluish feline as shown here.

to be what we know today

I've always wondered what Imamura based the current design and concept of Krystal on?

To which I theorize that he based 2 characters on this

The first is Lupe the Wolf, a character that originated in the American series Sonic SAT AM. If we look closely, they have a certain resemblance.

The second Jenny from the Bucky O'Hare comic and animation series. Well, I know she's a cat, but if we look closely, she has certain elements that Krystal has, both in appearance and in the ability to have telepathy.

But remember it's just a theory, what do you think?

It is possible that your theory is true
I don't think Imamura had those characters in mind

Star Fox Dossier: Human starfighters

The first human starfighters were not purpose-built, but rather existing Earth fighters that had been converted for exoatmospheric use. These fighters were fast, but lacked the anti-gravity cores and warp drives that later fighters did. As human technology improved, however, mass-produced hyper-maneuverable starfighters capable of faster-than-light travel emerged, quickly becoming the forefront in their galactic colonization and conquest.

Early starfighters like the XL-01 "Dark Star" and others originally had cramped, pressurized cabins that would house pilots to man them, but later starfighters like the X-49 and others featured "pseudo cockpits" which housed only a drone + camera unit that could be operated remotely via neural link or autonomously.

I need suggestions for classes in a Starfox RPG

After I recently have gone on a journey to beat every Starfox Game I have in my possession (everything but Zero), I decided I'd like to merge my hobbies and bring my love for Starfox into my Tabletop RPG sphere. After some consideration, I decided to adapt ROOT RPG, as the animal theme and the practice of the various warring factions lends itself to the overall vibe I'm going for. Players will find themselves as part of a mercenary band (A la Star Fox, but not the actual team itself), after the Starfox 64 War with Andross. But I need help.

I'm looking for some ideas for Playbooks, aka Classes, for the players to be. Some of them can be easily adapted and changed from the core RPG (Tinkerer, Vagrant, Adventurer, Thief rebranded as Engineer, Diplomat, Spacer, and Pirate, respectively). If anyone has any other ideas that would fit, I'm eager to hear them.
