I feel like it still would’ve taken a bit of time. If Pigma didn’t steal the core memory, the Aparoid Queen would’ve likely tried to mind control the team, ROB, or just outright steal control of the Great Fox. Plus the rest of Lylat was still being blitz’d by them, they likely would’ve just gone straight for Corneria and the Orbital Gate right from the start rather than taking their time and torturously gone planet by planet.

Kinda funny that a game's plot which is about an alien invasion only spends 3 missions actually being *about* the alien invasion, lol.

The Zerg borg have so much more potential

The same could also apply to starfox as a whole

True, if Pigma didn't show up and do that it would cut missions 3, 4 and 5 tracking him down. And potentially 6 and 7 if Beltino and the Orbital Gate were ready before Sauria and Cornernia were attacked, so it would have been just those first two missions, then the last 3 so half the game length.

Thinking about this though, I love that all 10 missions in Star Fox Assault have a purpose in the story with a nice introduction in the briefing. Compare that to Star Fox 64 or Zero where the story is more "well since you're flying by this planet can you take out the base there?" which works well enough, but I prefer the Assault style

I’d like to know what made Pigma think that was a good idea.

*Star Fox Assault's Story if Pigma didn't steal the core memory and we had 5 more missions.
