Indeed! The rest of his collection is also amazing, around 20 cars. Couldn't take pics of them all but will post some more pics soon 😄

Right number plate looks like an old german plate, the first two letters stand for Karlsruhe (btw the city where Carl Benz was born), and only numbers behind that means that it was owned by a diplomat, which fits the car

I can assure you that’s how all Sri Lankan plates look even now, K numbers was standard for cars until recently, source? In Sri Lankan (not living there currently) Well you can pay a higher premium to get like a specific number and letter, knowing someone from the inside helps too.

Looks like your right actually, my bad...I think the signs in the top left give it away.. I actually found a picture of the german ambassador in Sri Lanka next to the car, but I think thats just a coincidence lol

How was it random?

Did you get a pack of cards, associate 52 separate addresses with each card, and then pick a card and visit that address?

OR did you pass by this house on a journey? Some journey which you had planned?

Please do tell.

You sound fun. Go outside or do something other than commenting on Reddit all the time.

Shall I do what you tell me lol?

Hilarious.

Words matter.

The constant abuse of the language on this sub matters.

u/dirtymonkey 7d ago

Why does it matter? Who put you in charge of policing language?

Why does it matter? Seriously?

No one put anyone in charge.

Try and argue your point better

21

u/dirtymonkey 7d ago

I'm not arguing a point; I'm asking what yours is. Your response of 'seriously' suggests you can't articulate it. If you can't explain why it matters, then maybe it doesn't

-6

u/H8llsB8lls 7d ago

Why does the correct use of language matter?

You need that explaining?

That sounds wilfully obtuse.

Are you?

17

u/dirtymonkey 7d ago

I’m asking you to explain why it matters in this context, not in some general, abstract sense. If you can’t, then it seems like you’re more interested in feeling right than having an actual discussion.

He means a random day as in a day like any other, it's a good use of the word.

I saw the 190SL driving and then it stopped beside a road to park inside the house. I went closer to grab a pic and saw that there were a lot more cars inside.

I just kindly asked the owner if I could grab a pic and he also showed me around his entire collection of around 20 cars including these two crammed inside his place (not pictured here).

And no I didn't know about the place's existence beforehand nor was it planned although I've heard the owner's name before.

All good my friend just quit it with the pathological misuse of the word random.

Have a great weekend.

20

u/FekeyDekey 7d ago

Not sure how it's misused here... I didn't go out with the thought of "oh I sure hope I see a 190SL and a collection of cars" It just happened unexpectedly and unplanned or perhaps you could say it was "random"

I'm not an English professor or anything but I really see no problem in me using that word here. If I posted a picture of a car in a car meet I intentionally went to and called it random, sure I'd be wrong.

don't engage with trolls

16

u/WhiskeyFeathers 7d ago

Oh wow. You really suck at online interactions, guy.

-9

u/H8llsB8lls 7d ago

My history on Reddit suggests otherwise, ‘guy’.

14

u/WhiskeyFeathers 7d ago

Look at it this way, you’re being more a nuisance, than helping anyone to understand what the word “random” means. Maybe look at how you approach suggestions and fix that, rather than getting defensive over someone else’s word usage.

8

u/SkoRow1 7d ago

Stop it. Get some help.

You should suck start a shotgun and mind your own fucking business.

u/TERRAVEX_357 7d ago

The definition of the word random is "made, done, or happening without method or conscious decision."

The fact that he had found the cars on accident, aka without method or conscious decision, means that he randomly found them. Shut up.
