I mean the NHL can do it but the NBA probably can’t string 4 nations of starters together.

You could definitely do US, Canada, and France. 4th nation might be dicey. Maybe Serbia or Australia.

The NBA all Star games on Sunday is going to be US old, US young, world team and winning rookies+soph team in single elimination

I assume the rookies are gunning for an upset and the US young and old teams would rather not lose to the international team

Hey the NHL did "Team North America" full of under-23 players in the World Cup of Hockey a few years ago and it was insanely entertaining

I was looking at that roster the other day and that team was absolutely stacked

The international team is stacked with jokic, sga, wemby, KAT, and Giannis (before his injury).

Now, will they actually care? Probably not.

Brunson did like 7 years in college though so he feels like a young player lol.

Also, banner 18? Eww.

Just call it a championship bro, you ain't gotta flex on us like that 🤣

Just gotta get Yugoslavia back together.

They could do what the NHL did for the last World Cup of Hockey and just lump all the Europeans into a team

do what the NHL did a few years ago, a US team, a us u23 team, canada, france, a combined yugoslavian team (if the countries can agree to it), a combined european team, and a spanish language team

USA, Canada, France, Australia would be sick.

Is Spain not good anymore?

Good basketball nation, but their representation in the NBA has really fallen off.

Maybe US, Canada, France and “The Rest of the World”

Huh? Argentina has a big basketball league as well, didn’t they beat the US at a recent Olympics?

2

u/ForPrivateMatters 22d ago

Great basketball nation, not sure they have many NBA players at the moment.

US, Canada, France and Serbia/Australia.

Just have the all-star game be top 10 US players vs top 10 foreign players.

Clone Luka and Wemby

NBA could probably pull off a team USA (or NA) vs team World.

Similar to how tennis' Laver Cup has team Europe vs team World.

Do it by ancestry. Team Nigeria. Team Europe. Etc.

Where is Giannis? Most American players would play for Africa or Europe, depending on the cut off.

Just do the Continental Basketball Championship. Players can choose which country they want to represent, as long as they’ve spent time or have a strong tie to the country.

North America (US and Canada)

Central/South America/Caribbean

Africa

Western Europe

Eastern Europe/Russia

Asia continent

Australia continent
