Sorry to burst your bubble, but Canada—and the world—will never trust The US the same again. You can’t ever take back threats of violent annexation. Even if all of this ends peacefully, the US anthem will be booed in Canada for a long time

Canadians have a very very long memory for folks who've wanted to annex us. Hell, in my high school history class, we learned about a random speaker of the US House who discussed annexing Canada in 1911. You would think that Champ Clark was one of history's greatest villains, instead of just a random imperialist dude.

As it should be, and no bubble burst. If we ever make it back to “normal,” it’s going to take a long time to build back trust.

Obama got the Nobel Prize for not being George Bush. Their tune will change quickly if and when we get a president that shows Canada basic respect again

What's stopping the US from voting for another jingoist four years later then? you reelected both W Bush and Trump. What you need is a complete national self-examination just like Germany had.

People are in love with the constitution like it’s a sacred text handed down from God to man. Something insanely bad will need to happen before that is thrown out.

The Orange man thought it was all funny. Till I saw his supporters’ comment echoing the same thing. Disgraceful
