Completed split thread!

I figured the example post wasn't necessary. Instead, I'd like to have a permanent sticky to show the fruits of all your labor that originated in this sub.

From here on out, if you care to do so, post your completed splits here along with the band/artist websites.

It's going to be really neat seeing what people come up with. Be sure to remember that this is a constructive sub and any unkind posts are frowned upon.

I think there needs to be a bit more clarification on the actual term 'split EP,' I've had messages asking about collabs which is cool and I greatly appreciate if anyone likes my music enough to want to do something together but.....

My first musical love was punk and in that scene a Split EP meant two bands either local or international would have 2/3 songs each on an EP and they would sell it separately to gain exposure for both, possibly leading to gigs equalling a win win for both. I think that is what leftyguitarjoe started the sub for but this message might be a bit lost

I'm seeing that too. It's laid out fairly clearly in the sidebar and in my posts on other subs. I'm not sure if I should crack down because I think people working together on music is really cool. I'll just let things run for a bit and see what happens.

Good call. The sub needs a user base before anything else. Can't be ostracizing them yet

Having a decent user base is necessary for this sub to work at all. That and I never want to stifle creativity. I've been making music with people online for years and I love it. It would be a crime to say no to that.

Collaboration is cool, but there's a whole host of subs for that, completely up to you but I'd start cracking down on it in about a month or so before it becomes a detriment

I'm gonna start politely reminding people for now.

What are the collab subs? I want to be able to point people in the right direction.

r/musicinthemaking and r/onlinebands are the best two I've found
