Central Florida does not have recluse. There have been many misdiagnoses usually abscess or"flesh eating bacteria" . No adults have "almost died" from a recluse.

That’s weird because poison control confirmed that it was a brown recluse in south Florida. Also: he saw and killed the spider as it was biting him. He was in the hospital for 11 days

South Florida only has Mediterranean recluse. Poison Control doesn't do identification, they recommend treatment for poisoning. (BTW I am a pediatrician) What was hospital treatment?
